Dear Bella,
Wait, I know what you're thinking but before you eat this please just give me a chance to explain. First off, I miss you. This isn’t easy for me either. I know I was around and then just kind of disappeared out of nowhere, but you have to understand, this isn’t something I wanted. Please just give me a chance to explain.
It wasn’t you Bella, it was never you. You always knew how to put a smile on my face. I curl up in blankets on my couch now and hold a stuffed animal but it's just not the same. I miss you laying on top of me and licking the blanket for no reason. I miss your abnormally long tongue and your smelly breath. Hell, I even miss when you would need me to take you to the bathroom at the most inconvenient times. I just don’t want you to think that I got tired of you.
I meant everything I said to you. You really are the cutest little thing in the world. I know you don’t have any idea where I went, but I like to think you miss me a little. I know you at least miss me rubbing your belly and throwing the ball for you. I’m not playing fetch with anyone else, and I’ve mistakenly rubbed other bellies but its just not the same. I miss your bark. Damn it, I can’t hold back anymore.
But first I need to get you out of that electric collar. My God I always hated when she who shall not be named would make you wear that thing. You're a beautiful creature you're not like the other dogs. Who’s the best little puppy dog in the whole wide world? Mmmm that's right! Bella is! Bella is! Yes that's my gir— no no, I can’t. I’m sorry just give me a second. NO! I’m not crying are you crazy, I just got something in both of my eyes.
Ugh what was I thinking Bella. This will never work. I guess we just have to accept it. You have to be free to run and play, well I mean at least within the containment of your yard. And I; I guess I’ll just have to find a new little fur ball to spend time with. It’ll never be the same but I know this is what has to be done, and there’s nothing I can do to change it. Please don’t look at me like that. I could never resist those little puppy dog eyes. I hope one day I can at least be able to see you and maybe even play with you again. Just promise me you’ll always remember where you buried that bone I gave you and if anyone ever starts to treat you wrong you just run the other way and don’t stop. Don’t let those big dogs at the park scare you, and remember most of all, no eating off the table missy!
Woof,
Brian
