I’ve never taken the chance to tell you both truly, how grateful I am for your love. Not only have you supported and guided me through this thing we call life, but you have loved me through every single bump in the road. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that in just a little over a year, I will be a college graduate. I’m sure that was a little of a reality check to you too. Whether or not I was complaining about all of the homework or whining that I wanted to drop out, you both told me to stay strong and that you had no doubt I could do it.
Mom, I’ve never seen anyone more courageous and strong than you. You are fighting each and every day to get stronger, and be the best mother you can be. Over the past year, I’ve gone through many ups and down with my health, and you showed me that it’s okay to fall. You taught me that falling down only shows you’re human, and whether you get back up again defines who you are. You literally picked me up, held my hand, and never left my side during one of the hardest times of my life. You will never truly understand how much it means to me. Nothing is stronger than a mother's love and you have shown this to me more than ever over the past year.
Dad, I’m not sure if you know just how much I look up to you. You’ve inspired me in life to lead by example. To value the gift of giving versus receiving. I’ve grown up watching you help and save so many lives over the years. I hope one day to move as many lives you have over the years. You are the most selfless father anyone could ask for and I cannot be more grateful for all you’ve done for us. What I love most is that you see me as the perfect daughter. You think I’m beautiful. You think I’m passionate. You think I’m so smart. You think I could be or do anything I wanted in life. Even when I’m at my most fragile state I know I’d find you there saying how I’m so strong and brave.
All I want more than anything is for you both to be proud of me. I know how blessed I am as a daughter to know that no matter what I do in life, you will always be proud of me. I know I don’t always tell you 'thank you' the way I should, but I’m saying thank you now for all the years I’ve been your biggest fan.
Forever and Always,
Your Daughter
