To my High School Seniors,
As my mother always says, "The world is your oyster " stop and think about this. Your family must be so proud of you, you're so close to graduating high school. Four stressful years of test taking, college applications, and all nighters, all leading up to crossing that stage in a month, saying to yourself, " I did it". In all honesty, a part of me wishes I was still in high school, life was so easy. Please cherish every moment high school has to offer you. Go outside your comfort zone, attend Friday night football games, senior prom, join clubs, and make unforgettable memories with the people that were there for you all through high school.
I know what you're feeling, trust me. I've been in your shoes, constantly daydreaming about your life after high school in the middle of your calculus class. I need you to stop and take it all in, close your eyes and picture yourself walking across that stage and looking into the audience, trying to find your parents in the enormous auditorium. I know, crazy. To be completely honest, it's probably one of the best experiences you'll have in your entire life.
The last day of high school, before graduating was the most emotional day ever! Saying your last goodbyes to the amazing teachers that taught you what you needed to know for the "big world". You'll empty your locker and take down all the pictures that made your high school experience so special. Finally, you'll take that step outside and get a little teary knowing you'll never step foot back into this place we called "home".
So, to my high school seniors, remember who you are and where you came from when walking across that stage. Never let anyone tell you, you can't do something, prove them wrong. Don't take senior year for granted, please don't.
