A Letter To Trump From A "Criminal"

Let's make America great again.

A Letter To Trump From A "Criminal"
VH-1

Dear Mr. Trump,

It seems like you’ve been the big talk these past few months. I admire your lifestyle, not going to lie: the beauty pageants, the best clothes, the parties, signing my name in gold Sharpie and the idea that you could have anything that you desire. You can buy and get literally everything you want with your “small loan of a million dollars.” I don't even have $5 to pay for a 24 pack of Ramen Noodles, so for that, I am definitely jealous.

I admit it. You’re entertaining. You’re funny. You're funnier than I will ever be. You, my friend, are the face of today's society that revolves around memes. Seriously, you are the first person people google to create sick memes. That's goals. Also, you're bold. Heck, you've got balls to mock your opponent's sweat glands on live TV!

I actually LOLed at this BTW. I have never seen an adult act like a teenager at a Presidential debate. So thank you for making me realize that I am much more mature and smarter than I thought. Maybe that's why people love you so much...

I know you think you know everything, I’m pretty sure—scratch that—I know you don’t know how my life is, or anyone's life, for that matter.

My family and I came to the United States for a chance at a better life, for prosperity and for freedom. When you announced your candidacy, you stated: “Mexico is not sending their best.” I agree 100% with that.

We arrived in a very small town that I probably shouldn't say in case you actually do read this, find me and threaten to deport me — or worse, threaten to sue me. Anyways, we began to build our new lives in Morgan City, LA, where I made lifelong friends, memories and accomplishments. I was fortunate enough to achieve a 4.0 GPA all through middle and high school. Oh, and I am still excelling with a great GPA in college.

My fellow Hispanic (we're not all Mexicans, you know) friends, neighbors, classmates, and myself are working an extravagant amount of hours to prosper. I promise you, I am not bragging or trying to put myself on your hit list. I'm just being a little bold like yourself and speaking the truth.

I am not embarrassed by my heritage, and I will never be. I love Mexico and the United States equally. Ask any of my friends; when there's a MEX vs USA game, I am literally dying of stress trying to figure out who to root for. Of course, USA sucks now that Landon Donavan retired, but I'm straying from the topic.

Mexican, Central American, Asian, Indian, European, African, American and all other cultures are all so beautiful, Mr. Trump. For you to want to rid the United States of that will not make America great again. Instead, it will rip America of its greatness. America will cripple without its uniqueness.

"Criminals" like my family come to America from across the world. Many of us aren't even illegal. We're not just making our lives better, but we are making the American life an incredible life for everyone else.

If, by some chance, you do become president, I pray that you may find love and acceptance in your country's — our country's — cultural diversity. I pray that we can work together to really make America great. I pray that you learn to work and live with "Mexico's criminals", because like I said, I completely agree that Mexico isn’t bringing their best people. It is sending their greatest.

Sincerely,

A low-key terrified Mexican "criminal"

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
