My senior year wasn't like everyone else's. It wasn't one to remember, and I honestly didn't really do much other than go to school, then work, then home. On the weekends I didn't really do much other than spend my time at home with my family. Looking back, I wish I would have done some things differently. So here is my advice for you as you enter your last year of high school.
Get involved! No matter if you have never been involved in the previous years, get out of the box and try something new. Go to every sporting events, prom and other activities. Also, don't be afraid to join clubs and organizations through your school. Pick a club that you have always wanted to join, but never had the time and join it! I joined two clubs I always wanted to join my senior year. Don't be that person who doesn't do anything their senior year (like me) because you will regret it looking back on it.
Dress up for every spirit day because it is your last time walking through a school dressed like a fool. I only participated in one spirit day and looking back, I wished I would've dressed up for them all. From camouflage day to tacky day, participate in them all! This is a memory you will never forget with your friends when you look back on your senior year!
Take lots and lots of pictures! These will be the last photos you will have of high school. Ever. Take advantage of having a camera and take some photos so the memory will last forever! You will appreciate this when you are 50 years old looking back at every memory you had. You might not remember some, but at least you will have pictures to look back on!
Try your best when it comes to academics. I can not express this enough! I lacked so hard on school work my last semester of high school. I was very naive about school work and honestly, I was just ready to get it over with. Your teachers are more than welcome to help you in any way possible to earn a good grade, but you are the one who has to put in the effort.
Last, but not least, go to social events and have fun! On the weekends, I never went to the bonfire at the end of the road or at someone's cabin. This is your last year to spend time with your classmates as a whole. Before you know it, you will be packing for college and won't see most of the people from high school for years.
With all of that being said, I hope you have the best last year of high school with lots of memories and pictures. Don't sweat the small stuff because months from now, it will not matter. Always do your best when it comes to academics, but make time to spend with your friends.
