It’s only been a little over week since we rang in 2017 and already some of our resolutions have gone to die. I think a lot of people like to set the grandiose goals for the new year, but that momentum for accomplishing them greatly decreases after a couple of days or even in some cases hours into the new year. However, I think most people can generally agree that being a better version of yourself is a goal that we set for ourselves every coming year. It can be an intimidating goal, but here are some simple ways that you do some pretty amazing things.
- Let It Go take some time for yourself and go through your closets, cupboards, junk drawers. Not only will you feel better by freeing up some space, but take all the things you have chosen to get rid of and donate them to your local Salvation Army or Goodwill.
- Write: writing is a great way to express what you’re feeling and it’s an even better way to reflect. Take a moment for yourself once a day, once a month, whenever you have a minute and write about what’re doing, how you’re doing, what you want to be doing.
- Drink More Water: instead of setting a super rigid diet plan that you may or may not follow, set a simple goal that can help you achieve a healthier lifestyle in the long run. Drinking water has so many countless benefits.
- Buy A Planner: if you’re not into planners or just in general you’re not into planning person I completely understand. However, planning your day, week, or month out allows you to visually see the things that you need to do and that you accomplish. If a planner is to intimidating start out with simple to-do lists or reminders on your phone.
- Take A Break: sometimes we all need a break. This break may be from our day to day life, from social media, from school, work, family. Whatever it is make time for yourself to distress from it. I think we all make excuses on why we don’t have the time to slow down, but it is a necessary step.
