Abortion: Think of the Broader Spectrum

My reasoning on how I went from Pro-Life—> Pro-Choice.

Abortion: Think of the Broader Spectrum

When I was younger, I believed abortion was wrong. But as I grew up, so did my mind and mindset. As the older we get, the more our minds open. At least for some of us.. I’m still young, but as I mature I become more cultivated and I look at the broader spectrum.

You’ll read or see all these articles and posts about peoples opinions on abortion. Pro-Life or Pro-Choice.. Usually it doesn’t affect me too much, and I say nothing. Just keep my comments to myself. Until yesterday. I’m not sure why they caught my attention, but they did. After I read these comments, I just kept thinking, “Has she looked at the broader spectrum?”

“There is no comparison... abortions are murder! If you can't love a BABY adoption is always an option..."

"Adoption is always an option.”

Just a stupid thing to say when you think of the broad spectrum. Actually put yourself in someone else’s shoes.. Their life may not be as perfect as yours.

Yes, I LOVE the idea of adoption and applaud the amazing people who can do it. But there are only so many people willing and able to adopt.

My main question with the topic of “adoption is always an option” is: Where in the hell do people expect all these children are supposed to go? Your house? How about me load all the kids into busses and send them to you!!!! The system is already so over crowded, that I just couldn’t imagine where ALL these other babies are supposed to go. It just doesn’t seem logical when you put two and two together. The amount of babies vs homes and caretakers. Caretakers that will actually feed them, nourish them and teach them.

Imagine this..

Do you want that drug addict mom to carry a baby while she's on meth? The baby would either be emotionally or physically messed up when it was born, or it could even die in PAIN inside the mother at 35 weeks. (6 weeks vs 35. Examples) The actual addiction and withdrawals from drugs are so hard on their precious little bodies.

And the whole "send them to prison" for the mother being an addict.. 1. WHERE DO YOU THINK THEY'RE ALL SUPPOSED TO FIT? Are you going to pay for all the prisons to be built and support the prisoners? 2. Well if you’ve disagreed with most I’ve wrote, you’re not going to like this one. Addiction is a decease. An actual mental health problem. I’m pretty sure most don’t think “Yeah, let’s get hooked on meth!” They think “What the fuck can I do to numb this pain?” If you’ve never been in the kind of pain where you feel so numb and dead inside, just stop. Do I agree with people being addicted to drugs? No but ya know what, shit happens and it’s something that happens to some.

Think about this one..

Imagine, condom breaks and girl gets pregnant... And she's on psychiatric medication, that she would die without. Literally die. (You can't be on really any strong psychiatric medications while pregnant because it'll mess up the baby or kill it.) But she's a sever schizophrenic that’s suicidal all the time, or has DID (Dissociate Identity Disorder- used to be called multi-personality disorder) or has BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder- very different from DID) or bipolar disorder 1 that makes her suicidal.. You get the point.

Would you rather her get an abortion at 6 weeks or her kill herself eventually in the pregnancy? Pretty sure my mom would rather me have an abortion THAN KILL MYSELF. 100% sure my mom would choose me getting an abortion over me dying. And don't say "oh they just need to be stronger" Yeah well a chemical imbalance ISN'T SOMETHING YOU CHOOSE PEOPLE. Those people don’t want, to want to die. But the chemical imbalance in their head tells them otherwise

Imagine this one... No shock here.

Your 13 year old daughter was raped by her soccer coach. I’m not even going to try and get to into this one explain the whole rape situation to you, because obviously you're heartless if you think a 13 year old should carry a 40 year old man’s baby. It’s not only mentally going to mess them up, but do you think it’s SAFE for a 13 year old to give birth?

Even if they’re not 13, but you’re ONLY Pro-Life .. Until you’ve been raped, you won’t understand.

Think about this...

You have two babies at home, and you just wanted another one to share more love with. But it would kill YOU or the baby if you were to carry to term or give birth... Would you want to leave behind your two children and spouse without a mother/wife??? Stillborns, miscarriages and other pregnancy can be fatal. Again, not going to get too far into this one, because if you think a mother should have to go through that, you’re just to dimwitted to understand.

I've never expressed my feelings on social media before about abortion, but the negative reasonings are just too not to say something.

Am I going to go have an abortion tomorrow? No.
But I'm pretty sure a lot children would rather be aborted than be beaten and starved in a bad foster care home. Or have a severe schizophrenic or one with severe DID mom to the point where she can’t parent. Or a drug addict, one who doesn't quite give a shit, who doesn’t care about feeding them or taking care of them... Exct.. I can’t say that I guess about all children I guess, but at least me.

(NOT SAYING I AM ANY OF THOSE THINGS.) Just possible examples to contradict on close minded opinions.

More more..

Thinks about the unfit parents who don’t want to keep it but well just do. That kids life... Some people just don't have morals.

Think about the broader spectrum.

Crazy how I used to be "against" abortion when I was younger. I’m glad I did this crazy thing called grow up, put on my big girl panties and learn the realities of life with an open mind.

It’s REALITY for some. Not just all hypothetical.

Just because you’re Pro-Choice doesn’t mean you’re going to go get an abortion. It just means you try and understand people’s actual reasonings.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
