The semester is nearing its halfway mark, and midterms are around the corner. Needless to say, the stress level on campus is rising. Everyone has too much to do, and one exam too many to study for. You feel overwhelmed, and the temptation to ignore all of your responsibilities is very strong. Fortunately, there are a few simple things you can do to stress less and study better:
1. Organize and prioritize!
It can be really helpful to make to-do lists when you’re swamped with homework. Plan out when your mid-terms are and study accordingly. Try creating a study schedule to keep yourself on track.
2. Try working in a study group.
It can be beneficial to work with people on the same tasks so you can use each other as a resource. You can also keep each other accountable and make sure to stay on task.
3. Listen to some classical music..
Research has found that doing so can improve memory, concentration, and make students more receptacle to information.
4. Take a break and exercise.
Exercise has been proven to reduce stress. When exercising, your brain releases chemicals such as serotonin, which is a mood booster. The better you’re feeling mentally, the better you will learn and be able to relax.
5. Sleep!

6. Eat right!

7. Spending time with friends can be a huge stress reliever.
Taking some time away from all the responsibilities of college life just to talk and have fun with your peers can be a great way to relax.
8. Have some me time.
It is important to focus solely on yourself once in awhile. Try listening to some of your favorite songs, going for a walk, creating some art, reading a book, or whatever else it is that you enjoy doing on your own.
