In every sport, in all leagues, and from every level from professional to little league there are teams that you and everyone else love to hate. With reasons ranging from players and coaches to owners and win streaks that seem unrealistic, sometimes you would rather die than root for the team. Maybe that is a little dramatic, but you just cannot wait until the day that you see that team fall. While no team is loved by everyone, for these nine teams it is easier to find people against these teams than for them. In no specific order here are the teams that you love to hate.
1. Alabama Crimson Tide
After recently winning their fifth championship in nine years and three straight appearances in the championship game under coach Nick Saban there is not a doubt that Alabama is the new College Football Dynasty, and everyone who isn't a fan of the Crimson Tide cannot wait to see them fall.
2. Duke Blue Devils
Even though they have been proclaimed "the most prestigious college basketball program since 1985" by ESPN you just will not find people outside of their fan base rooting for the Blue Devils. And in recent years they have drawn more criticism because of current Shooting Guard Grayson Allen who was caught intentionally tripping his opponents.
3. North Caroline TarHeels
The reigning National Champions are hoping that they are on their way to a third straight appearance in the Championship. The program that was built on winning can attribute much of its success to longtime coach Dean Smith, who is actually the one who made the TarHeels a common enemy for all college basketball fans.
4. UCONN Huskies Women
With coach Geno Auriemma leading the Huskies to 111 straight wins, the most of any sport at the collegiate level, almost everyone just got tired of watching these women win. Even though that one loss ended their streak and took them out of national title contention, they bounced right back and are currently the Number 1 seed again with a 16-0 record.
5. New England Patriots
Possibly on their way to winning another Super Bowl with Bill Belichick and Tom Brady, the iconic duo are celebrating their 17th season together. While all non-Patriots fans cannot wait for the day that Brady announces his retirement which will hopefully lead to the downfall of the Patriots, for now though, it is a rare occurrence when they do not make it to the Super Bowl.
6. Dallas Cowboys
Many consider them to be the Yankees of the NFL, and they looked like they were on their way back to the success that they reveled in during the early '90s with rookie standouts Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott. Unfortunately for them that hope only lasted one season because Elliott was suspended at the beginning of the 2017 season and the team could not replicate the prosperity of the previous season.
7. Pittsburgh Penguins
The reigning Stanley Cup Winners for the past two seasons, the Penguins can boast the most enthusiastic fans in the NHL; however, this does not spare them from haters. Whether it is their dominance or their fans who can be viewed as obnoxious by others, you would be hard-pressed to find a Penguins fan outside of Pittsburgh.
8. New York Yankees
Possibly the most well known and most hated by people who know nothing about them are the Yankees. After being home to some of baseball's most legendary players they seem to be getting better with last season's rookie standout Aaron Judge and trading for Miami All-Star Giancarlo Stanton looking to lead them into the playoffs again this season.
9. Golden State Warriors
After appearing in the past three NBA championships and winning two of them, the Warriors seemed to get an unnecessary advantage with Kevin Durant joining a team that already had three all-stars - Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. While they may be on their way to the playoffs, all other basketball fans are hoping to see new teams take over the Warrior's success.
10. Lavar Ball
Even though he is not a team, he might be more hated than any teams on this list. The outspoken father of Lonzo, LiAngelo and LaMelo and founder of Big Baller Brand has become one of the most common enemies in the world of sports. With comments about his son being better than Steph Curry to pulling his younger two out of school to go play professional basketball in Lithuania he always gives sportscasters something to talk about.
