Ah, high school. It is the best of times, it is the worst of times. However it goes for you, you can credit a large factor of the experience to the teachers you have.
1. The one that assigns ALL the work.
This one regularly collects homework in order to grade it. You cannot mess up on practice assignments without it screwing up your final grade, so you spend two hours on five problems with your friends. On top of the homework, you have to write up labs or projects that you half-heartedly complete because you are just so done with the class.
2. The one you have years in a row.
This one is usually super reasonable, and by the second year is totally cool with you. You know how to get an A in the class and life is just a breeze.
3. The talkative one.
This one offers their unsolicited opinions on touchy debatable topics, or just tells random stories throughout class that has nothing to do with the subject at hand. By the time an assessment rolls around you have no clue what has been taught in the past week in class and you cram the night before to get an A. You either hate or love this teacher, there is no in between.
4. The one who hands work back ten years later.
You have taken three quizzes in the past five weeks. The chapter test is in two days, and you still do not know how you did on the previous assessments. You ask this teacher multiple times, "when will I get my grade back?" and they just say, "later in the week." Day of the test - you get them back and realized you completely missed a concept. Too late for you.
5. The one you just click with.
You cannot place your finger on it but they just are your favorite teacher. You fly through the class, and you find the subject interesting. What makes it better is that the teacher gives interesting projects in order to learn the subject in depth.
6. The passionate one.
This teacher loves their job and course topics... and it is evident. You know if you are struggling with the topic in this class, so you get extra help, and they will make sure you know what is happening in class.
7. The super chill one.
This one has a super laid back teaching style that involves movies at some point of each semester. Projects are happening all the time and each one is super creative. A plus? They are also super lenient graders.
8. The boring one.
Maybe it is the subject, or maybe it's the same routine of the class everyday, or maybe it is just the teacher's voice. You can't tell the difference, you just think "nap time" when this class rolls around in your schedule.
9. The one you don't mind.
You are doing okay in the subject. You just don't mind the teacher. They are fair when grading, and the class isn't 100% boring. You just aren't bothered by them.
