1. Accept Your Anxiety

Don't run away from it. Remind yourself that what your feeling is OK. Blaming or guilting yourself will only make matters worse. Your anxiety might even help you recognize if you need to make any changes in your life. Also, it's ok to scale back. Listen to your mind and body and make the changes necessary.

2. Stay Positive

Your anxiety is temporary and believe it or not, you can control it. Use positive language by encouraging yourself to push forward and stay active.

3. Breath

Practicing breathing techniques will stimulate the part of the nervous system responsible for relaxation and will calm your body down. Breathing evenly will also give your brain something to concentrate on rather than recycling irrational thoughts over and over again.

4. Get Out Of Your Head

During intense moments of anxiety or panic attacks, you tend to blow things out of proportion and become clouded by negative thoughts and emotions. Next time, try calling a friend or family member or doing something detail oriented such as drawing or playing an instrument. Keep your mind occupied and try not to harp on the overwhelming emotions you're experiencing.

5. You Are In Control

If you have battled anxiety for an extended amount of time, you might feel like you can't get a hold of it anymore. Even if it feels as though it's taken over your life, it hasn't. It is your anxiety and you decide how it's handled. You got this.

6. Plant Your Feet, You Are Here

When you become overwhelmed, take a look around you and be present wherever you are. Don't let the situation spin out of control by feeding into your fears. Stay grounded and know that it will pass.

7. Don't Make Yourself Feel Bad

Guilting yourself during moments of panic will only make the situation more unbearable by making you feel alone. Be kind to yourself always.

8. Talk About It

Talking through your stresses to someone else rather than trying to sort through them in your crowded mind might help lessen the intensity of your thoughts and feelings. Once your thoughts are more organized, you are more likely to think rationally and productively.

9. Believe That You Can Overcome Your Anxiety

As cliche as it might sound, believing in yourself is half the battle. Understand that you deserve to overcome your anxiety and start practicing positive thinking.
