After a long summer spent tanning out in the sun or hitting the waves at the beach, fall is a refreshing break filled with delicious food, fun activities, and beautiful sights. As much as summer is a blast, nothing beats the atmosphere of fall, and here's just a few reasons why:
1. Apple or pumpkin picking. Fall comes with a variety of "fall activities" from, apple picking to pumpkin carving.
2. Halloween costumes. The one day of the year, when it is completely acceptable to dress up as your favorite pop-star or the bad pun you came up with. Whether it'd be a Black Eyed 'P' or one of the Spice Girls, you know that your idea for this year's Halloween costume is already on your radar.
3. Football. Whether it would be college or professional, nothing beats gearing up every weekend to cheer on your favorite team. And what could be better than delicious food and tailgating that comes along with it?
4. Fall attire. Boots, scarves, sweaters, jackets. What could be better than wearing multiple layers of cute sweaters and an array of jackets? Fall attire is hands down the best
5. Pumpkin everything. You know you have been waiting for it all year. Pumpkin spice lattes ... pumpkin cookies ... pumpkin candles, and everything else you can imagine in the flavor or scent of pumpkin becomes available in the fall.
6. Bonfires. The cool weather finally allows for some outdoor bonfires (and maybe even some marshmallows too!)
7. Fall television premiers. Alas it’s finally the end of having to watch repeats of your favorite television show, and you can finally find out what happened to your favorite characters on the next season.
8. The change of scenery. The beautiful array of leaves and the refreshing breeze in the air is only one of the many aspects of fall that makes it the time of year that everyone looks forward to.
9. Upcoming Holidays to celebrate. The time-span from Thanksgiving to Christmas break has to be one of the happiest times of the year. From holiday decorations to Christmas music, nothing is more wonderful than that time of the year.
10. Apple cider and apple cider donuts. Fresh apple cider donuts dipped in warm apple cider. Enough said.
11. Pies. From apple to pumpkin, fall is the best time for baking up recipes new and old.
12. Flannels. What could be cozier than an over-sized flannel on a cold fall day?
13. Halloween Movies. One of the best television specials of the year is ABC Family's, "13 Nights of Halloween." From "Hocus Pocus" to "The Adams Family," nothing beats spending the night watching the traditional Halloween movies we all grew up with.
