9 Of The Most Satisfying Feelings for Most Girls

It's more than just taking off your bra.

9 Of The Most Satisfying Feelings for Most Girls

Girls, it’s time to rip off those bras, enjoy a loose tank top and some sweatpants. After a long day’s, month’s or even year’s work, we all deserve the little things. The small actions we do as women, satisfy us sometimes more than a free drink at the bar or a hot barista at Starbucks.

1. Smooth legs after shaving

Even though No Shave November is fun, that first shave in a few days is like relieving a mountain off of our shoulders. Besides losing that prickly pine feeling of our little hairs smashing between our skin and pants, shaving leaves us feeling a little more lady-like.

2. Trying new makeup

Sure, the Naked pallet is expensive, but the feeling of trying new makeup is almost as wonderful as washing our faces, another very satisfying feeling as a girl! Even though there is a chance the makeup ends up being not as we expected – the brush is too thin, the lip stain is too dark or the brush isn’t brushy enough – it’s still nice to try something new without knowing the outcome.

3. Getting our hair washed

Although the seats aren’t always comfortable in the salon, it’s pretty cool to have somebody else take control of our knots, dead ends and things that make us want to shave like Britney. Plus, hairstylists always know the perfect amount of shampoo and conditioner to use, something I haven’t mastered yet.

4. Getting a pedicure

Thank your local nail salon for dealing with your worn and probably rough skinned feet. These people rarely complain about the effort and exercise they put into their own hands to make sure our feet are fresh. Next time somebody compliments your pretty paint job, tell them who hooked you up.

5. Eating food

I don’t care if it’s McDonald’s or a salad, food isn’t just good, it’s great. Sometimes when we aren’t in the best of moods, food is the easiest and only solution.

6. Being independent

It’s great to have somebody, or many people, take care of us; however, it’s also wonderful to be self-reliant most of the time. Not only is it mature and self-fulfilling, but it also changes impressions others have of us. Being independent reflects motivation, determination, confidence and trustworthiness sometimes.

7. Having somebody take care of you

On the other hand, it’s also nice to have somebody or many people willing to take of us when sick. It doesn’t matter who it is, why they do it for us or what they’re doing for us. From picking up groceries to saving us a seat on the bus, one little thing means a lot somebody.

8. Taking care of somebody else

Just like having somebody take care of you, it’s also just as pleasurable to help others, whether it be our family, friends or somebody else in need. In general, it’s always nice to help out, and you never know how helping one person could benefit you in the long run from making new connections to more opportunities.

9. Feeling beautiful

A lot of girls may disagree whether they are beautiful or not; however, every girl is beautiful, regardless of what they think. Even if they don’t feel it, think it or have ever been called beautiful, somebody out there, their future lover, a new friend or even a distant stranger will see the light in the girl who doesn’t see it in herself.

Finding satisfaction, for most girls, can come simply from a new haircut or from something deeper like volunteering. Regardless of what you find satisfaction through, continually growing on that satisfaction is just as satisfying.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
