It's that time of the year again! The semester is almost over and that means final exams and final projects are due. Everyone rushes to study or complete their forgotten projects, so this time can become very stressful for everyone. Instead of throwing things around and having a mental break down or contemplating what your are doing with your life, here are eight ways to cope with the stress that comes at the end of the semester.
1. Take a walk
Instead of sitting in the library trying to focus on all of the assignments you have to do, take a walk. Walking will allow you to step away from the work you have to complete and it will also allow you clear your mind after getting some fresh air.
2. Color
Psychologist have proved that coloring is a great way to release stress because your are not thinking about all of the work that needs to be accomplished, instead you are focusing on a soon-to-be-finished master piece, because let's be honest, we all love to color and think we are artists after coloring in a book.
3. Work out
When I am stressed out, I like to go to the gym. Not only does this help me stay in shape, but it allows me to forget about all of the exams I have and just lets me think about trying not to fall off the treadmill.
4. Go to the lake
If your college is located by a lake like mine is, use it! Listening to the waves roll in is a great way to relax and forget the work you have piling up! If it's warm enough jump in, the cool water will help you wake up if you are tired from studying all night and day!
5. Spend time with friends
Call up your friends and hang out for a couple of hours. They know exactly what you are going through because they are going through the same thing. Being with your friends will help you forget your worries because you will be laughing and having a good time.
6. Listen to music
Let's face it, we all get lost in the lyrics when listening to music. This is a great way to distract yourself from all of the work that you have to complete! Get lost in the music, sit back and relax for a couple hours.
7. Watch Netflix
Take a break from all of your studying and watch one of your favorite movies and or television shows. Catch up on the mounds of episodes you have missed because you were too busy to watch them.
8. Take a nap
We all love to take naps! It's human nature to take naps and no one can deny our napping rights! By taking a nap not only are you resting your mind so that you can have a better perspective on all of the work, but you are also catching up on sleep.
Good luck with all of your tests and remember to relax !!
