I am a hard-core shopaholic, so it makes sense that I consider Black Friday a legit holiday. I mark it on my calendar, I wake up at 6am for it, and I make sure that I have a game plan before I head down to the mall. Despite all the sales and excitement that Black Friday offers, it definitely comes with a whole lot of stress. On that note, here are the 10 things that seem to always happen during Black Friday.
1. You set your alarm for 6am that Friday morning after Thanksgiving, put on your pair of your favorite ripped jeans… but your Thanksgiving food baby is making that task a little hard, so you settle with lulu leggings instead.
2. You triple check your shopping list (ok maybe this is just me, I’m a planner) and make sure you have a gift for each friend and family member, and obviously a few presents for yourself.
3. You go into your first store and see that it’s “buy two, get two free”, so you casually (well, not really) and quickly run over to the sale rack and scope out your size.
4. You notice that this adorable sweater is 20% off, but you’re not sure if you need it. You see another person eyeing the same sweater from a distance so you decide to “put it on hold”, and by that, you hide it somewhere in the jeans rack until you can come back later and buy it.
5. After a long day of shopping, all you can think about is a Starbuck’s holiday drink in their signature red cup, but apparently so is everyone else, so you wait 20 minutes just to order your drink and another 30 minutes for the barista to call your name (and hopefully spell it right).
6. Sure, you found a bunch of sales, but you also somehow managed to spend 90% of your money in the first hour and you still have three other stores to go to.
7. You tell yourself that you’re going to save your last $20 for Cyber Monday, but as you’re walking with your face locked to your phone, you notice something that smells amazing; you walk right past Bath and Body Works. Even better, the big candles are two for $20, how can you resist that?
8. Another year, another successful Black Friday. Sure, you may have spent WAY more than you anticipated, but hey, everything was on sale. Now for the last hurdle of the day, trying to get out of the mall without being trampled… Good luck!
