This list is composed of eight movies that were released in the 80's. All of these movies have some lower ratings on IMDb and other sources for movie and television ratings such as Rotten Tomatoes. I think that these are some fantastic movies despite the ratings they have received. They are full of great moments and entertaining to watch.

1. Short Circuit

Short Circuit is one of the best movies on this entire list! It is so clever and has some really funny jokes. My fiance showed me this movie and when he first suggested it my thoughts were "oh great another sci-fi movie that I'm going to be so bored watching", but when I finished the movie it became one of my favorites. This is a hilarious film of the experience an experimental robot has when it comes alive and can think for itself.

2. Mannequin

Mannequin is a movie where the Mannequin comes to life. It is really entertaining and fun to watch. She comes alive with a whole life story and her creator falls in love with her.

3. Coming to America

Coming to America is a really funny movie where Eddie Murphy is a prince and he comes to America to find a wife. He works at a fast food restaurant and eventually finds his true love. The movie is packed with hilarious scenes and is definitely something to enjoy.

4. Crocodile Dundee

Crocodile Dundee is another wonderful movie from the eighties. Dundee is from Australia and he fights crocodiles. A reporter from New York wants to write an article about him, so she takes him back to the city. It is entertaining watching Dundee try to live in the city when he is completely out of his wildlife element.

5. Overboard

Overboard is a wonderful story, in the beginning there is a woman that is filthy rich and a snob to everyone even her handy man. One day, she falls overboard and eventually makes it to land. When she is found no one wants to claim her and then her handyman finds her and claims her because she has forgotten everything about herself. The rest of the movie is the story of how she lives when she doesn't know who she is and it is very interesting.

6. The Karate Kid

The Karate Kid was one of my favorite movies growing up. Daniel is the new kid in town and he sticks up for a girl unknowingly getting into a fight with one of the best karate kids around. Daniel learns karate and there is a huge tournament by the end of the movie. It is a captivating movie to watch.

7. Who Framed Roger Rabbit

Who Framed Roger Rabbit is a mixture of cartoon characters on screen with real people. Someone framed Roger Rabbit for a murder and his only possibility to get cleared of the charges is to enlist help from a detective that hates cartoons. This is a funny movie that you will love to watch.

8. Top Gun

Top Gun is one of my favorite movies and it always will be. It is a drama, comedy, action, and sad movie all wrapped into one. You experience many emotions while watching fighter pilot Maverick go through his journey in the Top Gun school.

I hope you enjoy watching all of these movies as much as I have. I know that they don't all have the best ratings but I hope you will give them a chance. They are all must see movies in my book!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
