The beginning of a new school year brings the beginning of a new football season. There are many highly anticipated games coming up this season but you better make sure to watch these eight.
1. Alabama at Georgia, Oct. 3.
These teams are meeting for the eighth time since the SEC split up. Georgia has thirteen returning starters. Alabama has to replace thirteen. This game will be the first away for the defending SEC champions.
2. Southern California at Notre Dame, Oct. 17.
This is one rivalry that we can’t forget. Southern Cali won eight games in a row against the Fighting Irish until Notre Dame won three of the past five games. However, the Trojans won last year 49-14, Notre Dame has 19 returning starters.
3. Texas A&M at Ole Miss, Oct. 24.
One individual matchup that everyone is ready to see is between Aggie’s defensive end Myles Garrett and Rebel’s offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil. Ole Miss is predicted to have a not-so-great offense and suitable defense. Texas A&M is expected to have solid offense with second-rate defense.
4. LSU at Alabama, Nov. 7.
LSU hasn’t beaten Alabama since they went undefeated in 2011. The Tide’s, Derrick Henry, and Tiger’s, Leonard Fournette, are two impressive running backs. There is too much talent on both of these teams to not be a great game.
5. Florida State at Clemson, Nov. 7.
Not only will this game be a great battle between quarterbacks, but also the winner will probably be the ACC champion. Clemson won the championship four years ago before FSU won the last three. It’s no secret that these two are at the top of their division.
6. Baylor at Texas Christian University, Nov. 21.
When the playoffs came around last year, neither TCU nor Baylor made the cut regardless of their almost perfect seasons. Each had a record of 11-1, TCU’s only loss being to Baylor. If they both get through their season’s undefeated, this game will be for the Big 12 title and a spot in the playoffs.
7. Ohio State at Michigan, Nov. 28.
This is Jim Harbaugh’s first year coaching at his alma mater, Michigan. It’s also his first time up against Urban Meyer. Will the Wolverines ruin a perfect season for the defending national champions?
8. Alabama at Auburn, Nov. 28.
The Iron Bowl is always an important one for football fans nationwide, and this season is no exception. The Crimson Tide has won four games out of the last six against Auburn, but the Tigers aren’t backing down. We all remember the Kick Six in 2013 when Auburn’s Chris Davis returned that missed field goal over 100 yards to victory.
