Being an introvert means that we crave our alone time. We love to be alone. I have compiled a list of things all about introverts. Check it out.
1. Personal space is key.
We strongly value our personal space in all aspects of life. We don't always love hugs. We like to have and be in our own space. This is one tough thing about being an introvert in college, is that living in a dorm room means you only have so much space and it can be hard to feel like we have a space that is ours and only ours.
2. Not all of us are shy.
This one is a little bit confusing because there are some introverts that are shy and there are some that are not. I personally am a shy introvert and part of that is due to my social anxiety. The ones that are not shy might seem like they are, but they can be very outgoing while also keeping to themselves.
3. Being social drains us.
When we go out and do something social, we often feel tired afterwards. This is because we are not huge fans of being around lots of being and doing lots of talking. When we leave a party, we just wanna be alone, lay in bed and watch some Netflix.
4. Getting our plans cancelled is a relief.
Especially if they were really big plans, we can always take a sigh of relief when you text us and say you can't go out anymore. More time for us to be alone!
5. We'd much rather stay in than go out.
If you wanna make plans with us, try doing something like maybe a bonfire at home or a movie night or playing cards rather than going to the biggest party. It's much easier for us to feel relaxed.
6. Alone time is the key to success.
Nothing feels better than doing whatever you want with no one around. We can sing as loud as we want without being judged. Introverts long to be by themselves. It's pretty unexplainable, but being with only ourselves is the best feeling in the world. We love it so much and we constantly long for it.
7. Just because we are introverted DOES NOT MEAN WE ARE ANTI-SOCIAL.
Please get this through your head people! Just because we are quiet and like being alone doesn't mean we aren't social, we just aren't as social as you are. We do enjoy the company of friends and sometimes going out and doing fun things. We can be social, it's just not our favorite thing in the world.
