There are other fun things to do, I promise.

Netflix... that one thing that seems to suck us all in. Before you know it one episode turns in to a whole season, and all your responsibilities are pushed aside. Netflix seems to ruin productivity for us. If you are looking for a way to cut down on your Netflix time here are 7 things you can do instead!

1. Spend Time With Your Friends

Turn off Netflix and put away all other technology. Get a few of your friends and go grab dinner or even just hang out at one of your apartments. Whatever you do, try and stay away from technology in general. Enjoy some old fashion conversation and have a dance party!

2. Study

This is probably the last thing you want to see on this list, but it wouldn't be right to not include. It is safe to say that Netflix cuts in to a lot of student's study time. Take five minutes and start study. After that you should have more motivation to study!

3. A Little Extra TLC

Take some time all to yourself. Unplug from world and take a break from Netflix and all other social media. Meditate, take a bubble bath, give yourself an at-home facial, or treat yourself to a manicure/pedicure! You will never regret giving yourself a little extra TLC. It's necessary to stay sane.

4. Go For A Walk

Take advantage of the beautiful world we live in. Go for a walk or hike. it doesn't matter if it is in your neighborhood or somewhere a little farther away. There are a countless number of places to explore and that may be that thing you never knew you needed.

5. Learn To Play An Instrument

Anybody who has ever learned to play an instrument understands why this made the list! Once you get past all the beginning stuff knowing to play an instrument is one of the best things in life. Not only does it bring joy to you, but it brings joy to others as well. It's also a safe bet that there at least one instrument you wish you knew how to play!

6. Tackle That To-Do List

This is kinda like studying... not exactly what you want to see on a list for Netflix substitutes, but it is also an important one. We all have that never ending laundry. Stop putting it off and get to work. Chances are you can put a pretty big dent in the list. You just have to start!

7. Read A Book

Do you remember the last time you read a book because you WANTED to? With all the readings that classes require nowadays it is no wonder that people stopped reading for pleasure. Pick up your favorite book and reread it or give that book you've been eyeing a try!

There are so many things you can do with your time if you let yourself. Netflix is addicting and I am by no means saying to give it up (how else are you going to watch all your favorite shows). But if you are finding that you need to limit your Netflix time try one of these activities!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
