7 Things I Need To Thank My Best Friends For More Often

Throughout the past two years I've spent in college, I owe a serious thank you to the friends who have stood by me no matter what. While I know this is totally typical of me to write, it needed to be said. Over the short course of time I have been living on my own at The Pennsylvania State University, not only have I been blessed with one great friend that I can count on for anything at all, I have been so lucky as to have found a solid handful of friends that I know will always stand by my side. So to the friends I can call at any hour, or show up at your door for anything at all in any light of day, or lack thereof, I want to throw you a big, fat, thank you that I should definitely say more often.

Here are seven things, among many, that you all have given my college experience that I am forever grateful for:

1. The 2 a.m. life coaching.

Thank you for staying up for hours on end, talking about everything and anything with me, when we both have studying or other things to do. When I look back on my college years, I will remember sitting on the floor in our dorm rooms and apartments being able to talk to each other free of limitations and judgment. Thank you for always being there for me unconditionally, and genuinely caring.

2. Never belittling how I feel.

This is a big one, which grants a big thank you. Thank you endlessly for always listening to what I have to say and never belittling or dismissing my feelings. This sounds cheesy, but not everyone is lucky enough to have friends that truly care, sympathize and respect how they feel. Thank you for not only that but thank you for always making me feel important.

3. The late night snack runs.

For me, this is truly a game changer. Friends who are always down for a good snack are the friends I want to have forever. Thank you for always being down to get Sheetz, Mclans, OderUp, etc. in a true time of need. I truly appreciate that.

4. Supporting me even when I mess up.

Thank you for not kicking me when I'm down. Even when I am in the wrong or make mistakes, thank you for always being on my side, but still being real with me.

5. Making me laugh until my stomach hurts.

Something I will always look back on and be able to smile at is how hard you all have made me laugh. One of my fondest college memories will be those moments where we thought we were so funny, we couldn't help but continue to build off of each other until we were laughing so hard that we couldn't even breath.

6. Participating in my crazy antics.

Thank you for not only never judging the psychotic things that I do but thank you even more for participating. Whether it be spur of the moment retail therapy, or some hardcore, level five, social media stalking, I can always count on my best friends here for some much-needed shenanigans.

7. Being the ones I want in my wedding.

Let's get cheesy here, you guys are the ones I want to share some of the most special parts of my life with. And for that, I could never be more happy to have found each and every one of you.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
