The 7 Best Things About Being A Morning Person

  1. You start the day with ease. Morning person or not, we’ve all had a couple of rough nights that have lead to sleeping through our alarms. The panicked feeling we get as a result of that mistake is awful. As a morning person, nine times out of 10 you wake up to your alarm with ease, or maybe you don’t even need one. Nothing beats the feeling of knowing you have plenty of time in the morning to relax and get ready at your own pace. This helps you prepare your mind for whatever the day has in store for you.
  2. You get to experience the "morning world." At times, while talking to family or friends about your early morning tendencies, it may feel like you’re one of the only morning people in existence. The reality is, when you run into Starbucks for that 8 a.m. coffee fix or visit a local café to catch breakfast, there’s a whole world of morning people buzzing about. The feeling of being surrounded by people who are already up sharing ideas, socializing, having meetings, writing, and making art in the wee hours of the morning is motivating and inspiring.
  3. You get a couple of extra hours in your day. While this may not technically be true because you simply go to bed earlier than the night owls, when you wake up energized in the morning with plenty of time, you have an hour or two to accomplish something without the exhaustion of the day weighing down on your productivity. Fitting in a workout or a study break before you start the day’s activities is a huge benefit of being an early bird. Additionally, you can schedule appointments earlier in the day and not have to take off work or miss class.
  4. It makes you a healthier person. Studies have shown that people who go to bed earlier and wake up earlier tend to have less body fat and an increased metabolism. Though this can vary greatly from person to person, early risers were found to be healthier overall.
  5. You can enjoy the peace and quiet. Unless you live in a big city, mornings tend to be the quietest time of the day. You can use this time to relax and meditate before your day begins. If you’re lucky and wake up early enough, you may even able to catch a striking sunrise waking up with you.
  6. Evenings are relaxing and stress-free. As a morning person, most of your planning, cleaning, exercising, or other additional activities will get done in the morning. With those things out of the way, when you come home at your day’s end, you can spend time doing relaxing things like catching up on T.V. shows or reading a few chapters of a book before heading off to bed.
  7. Your naps are justified. If you wake up 6 a.m. and accomplish half of your day’s tasks before noon and decide to take a late-afternoon or early-evening nap, you won’t be questioned by anybody.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
