At the beginning of every summer, I always make a list of things that I want to accomplish before I head back to school. I think that we can all admit that we are surrounded by 21st-century technology 24/7. As much as people love to complain that it is corrupting our world, many people don’t realize some of the amazing ways that apps can be beneficial for keeping life on track. Here are some of my favorites.
1. Evernote
If you are like me and take notes everywhere you go, Evernote is the app for you. Whether it is a song that you found on the radio, a quick shopping list, or jotting down important concepts from a work meeting, Evernote lets you create notes and lists for yourself, save articles and recipes from online, upload photos, work collaboratively, and more.
2. Hootsuite

3. GroupMe
Do you have a lot of group messages cluttering up your phone? GroupMe is a wonderful app that organizes it for you! Not only are all of these messages instant, but they have a feature so that someone can like a specific message instead of responding. I find this to be very nice and handy for quick questions like, "Who will be home for dinner?"
4. Tripit
Their slogan explains it all. "You handle the booking. We take care of the rest." This app is the absolute best for keeping track of all of my flight confirmations, hotels, and restaurant reservations.
5. Wunderlist!
I’ve always been a compulsive list-maker, which is why I can’t live without Wunderlist! It makes it easy to make grocery lists, to-do lists, Christmas lists, or any kind of list that you may need to make and keep them synched across all of your devices. My favorite feature of this app lets you share your lists, so that you can send the grocery list to your roommates, parents, or spouse when you know that they are at the store.
6. MyFitnessPal
Are you trying to stay fit? MyFitnessPal is the perfect app to track your progress!
7. Life - Period Tracker, Menstrual Cycle Calendar, Ovulation & Fertility Diary for Women’s Health
Refer to the title above.
8. Venmo
I think of Venmo as my check-writing app. Between holidays, birthdays, and personal events, this is an easy way to track who you're paying back and who's paying you back without having to sign into your bank account and search for a cleared check. This is definitely more useful to keep you organized in your personal life, rather than at work.
9. Key Ring
If you live by rewards cards, then you’ll love the simplicity of this app which stores all of your rewards information and lets you scan your phone in the store instead of carrying around those worn-out cards on your key ring. Even if you’re not a rewards junkie, you can put your gym membership card on here for easy scanning.
10. Any.Do
11. Google Docs
I am sure that you are familiar with Google Drive. If you are not, Google Drive is a cloud storage server that lets a user create and store presentations, spreadsheets, and other documents on Google's server. This Google Docs app is very handy when you need to open a spreadsheet, document, or presentation while on a mobile or tablet device. The best part of this app is that the documents created with Google Docs don't count against your overall storage allotment in Google. That's a pretty sweet deal.
