6 Reasons Why Halloween Is The Best Holiday As Told By 'Hocus Pocus'

It's official. The month we've all been waiting for is finally here! We've been planning, and coveting for this very month. Yes, October is here and you know what that means...

HALLOWEEN IS HERE!

And because my favorite month and my favorite holiday has finally arrived, I thought I might as well prepare the only way I know how. By watching my favorite Halloween movie since I was a wee, little tot: Hocus Pocus. Because I know Halloween is the best holiday there ever has been and ever will be, but you might not. No need to fear (pun intended) though, I'm here to change your mind with 6 (Yes, 6) reasons why Halloween is #1 in my heart, and who better to explain than the cast of Hocus Pocus themselves!

1. Halloween gives you some crazy confidence.

There's nothing better than finding that perfect costume. It gives you all the confidence you need to go out there and be yourself. Men, women, children - everyone is looking good and feeling fine on Halloween!

2. Everyone feels childlike wonder.

Who cares if people say you're a child for dressing up on Halloween?! It's the perfect opportunity to have some great, childlike, and sometimes nostalgic fun! So dress up and get out there, you're the one having a great time!

3. Two words: Group Costume

The only thing better than feeling fine as hell in a bangin' costume is when the whole crew is feeling the same way. No matter whether you're the Sanderson Sisters or the cast of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, you've won this Halloween. Because there is no stress like trying to orchestrate everyone's costume progress. You went the extra mile and you should be congratulated for all that hard work!

4. Fall candles are literally to die for!

Well, maybe not the black flame candle specifically, but there are some pretty great scents out there this time of year. From the stereotypical pumpkin spice to the ever illusive Mahogany Teakwood, there's an absolutely delicious fall scent out there for everyone!

5. What she said:

That may not sound like a good thing to you, but my favorite thing about Halloween is learning about what others believe when it comes to the day itself. Might sound sketchy to you, but it does allow us to branch out and learn about some other cultures superstitions as well as the origin of our own! Here's to knowledge at every turn!

6. The entire month is a party.

If you want it to be, the entire month is an absolute blast! Get some candy, watch some scary movies, and plan a few costumes! It's Halloween time!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
