Growing up in this generation has young girls believing that they must have a perfect body to be beautiful. Society influences them to have goals about their body that are almost impossible to accomplish and with the use of photoshop, companies make it impossible for girls to look like those from the ads. Aerie, however, started a photoshop free campaign in 2014 where they give young girls the opportunity to see that there is no reason to retouch beauty. Aerie has not only received all of my respect, but many other women's respect and here are six reasons why.
1. #AerieReal.
This campaign assures customers that all pictures taken of models remain untouched. There is no photoshop when ads are released which truly gains my respect because it is not giving out to what seems to be false advertisements.
2. Comfortable lingerie and clothing.
When purchasing lingerie from Aerie, you can be assured that it will be comfortable. The underwear, the bra's, the bralette's, everything. They're all super cute and comfy, what more can you ask for?
3. 7 for $27; It's affordable.
Not only is the lingerie comfortable, but it is also fairly cheap. You can always look forward to the 7 for $27 where you can mix-and-match all sorts of underwear and get 7 of them for only $27!!!
4. Support toward other organizations.
5. Empowerment for women and body positivity.
With the use of the #AerieREAL campaign, Aerie empowers women to feel strong, beautiful, and self-accepting. It makes sure to promote body positivity which influences girls to feel positive about themselves, something that a lot of girls nowadays struggle with.
6. All types of bodies are accepted.
Aerie has discontinued using supermodels and instead now uses models of all shapes, color, and size. Now, girls don't have to see ads where the only size they see is a tall, thin women. Instead they see girls who come in all shapes and sizes so girls can see the beauty within everyone and especially themselves.
