Yes, okay I know we’ve all heard enough of these sappy articles about roommates and best friends and why they mean the absolute world to us, but guy best friends are truly one of God's most precious gifts, and that is a fact. If I am not completely smothering my guy friends with hugs and text messages about how much I miss and love them, I am not really sure what our friendship would even be like!
1. They are brutally honest, in the best way.
Even when you don’t want to hear it, they are there to tell you the dead honest truth about each situation in your life because frankly, someone has to do it!
2. They see through all the boys who clearly don’t have your best interest at heart.
The way they see it, no one is good enough for you. No one reaches the standards they hold for you because you are just the queen of like, everything. If your guy best friend believes there is something super funky about the new boy you’ve been texting, run the other way.
3. They show you that no matter what kind of day you are having, you are loved and beautiful.
They turn the bad days into awesome days with just a Netflix and sweatpants type of night. There is simply no better comfort than the kind of comfort you will get from someone who cares for you as much as they do!
4. They are the most helpful shoppers on the planet.
“Do I look fat in this?” “Should I get this shirt in red or in blue?” Yes, we have all been there! A guy best friend will be the first to tell you how odd something looks on you because in all honestly, their brain to mouth filter is about as terrible as it gets.
5. They let you be one of the “bros.”
“Uh yeah I want to go hit balls at the batting cage with you? Why wouldn’t I?” Guy BFF's give you a taste of boy life and let you enjoy all the possible fun things to do, no matter how gross they can sometimes be! It easy to enjoy myself when I pretend to not hear every conversation you guys have! Did someone say tennis? Count me in.
6. They are trustworthy.
Okay let’s be real, they don’t tell your secrets because there is a 90 percent chance they have forgotten about what the secret even was 20 minutes after hearing it. Hanging with the boys never results in drama and on behalf of the girl population, we thank you for that.
