A collection of things I've learned in 2015, or hope to learn in the coming year.
I find so much inspiration in reading the thoughts and advice of strangers I find on Tumblr, even if I don't completely agree, fail to see the logic, or just don't want to accept that someone else is right. Sometimes it's easier to just accept words as truth without actually implementing the lesson in your life but at least it's a start. Without further ado, here are six important life lessons you should be learning:
Rough patches, struggles, frustrations, loss and grief all make life seem a little hard to live sometimes. It bodes well to keep a positive perspective and to know there is a light at the end of the tunnel, even if you can't see it.
The universe rests almost completely inside the gray area, although I'm not convinced that nothing is 100 percent good or bad—bunnies have got to be pretty close to being 100 percent good.
We often blame things on our situation in life, when the problem truly lies with a change needed in ourselves. Recognizing that a change of scene or running away from your problems won't fix them is a good place to start.
This is one I'm reluctant to learn. But I can recognize that fear, shame, and pain should not inhibit you from doing what you need to, especially if what you need to do is share.
It's important to note that change is a result of growing as a person—but striving to be someone you are not, for faulty reasons, will never bring peace or happiness.
Being your own best friend, complimenting yourself and making yourself a priority are actions we should all take to love ourselves more.
Go into 2016 with lessons learned and an eagerness to learn even more.
