With less than two weeks away until spring break, it's time to come to terms that many of us won't have many plans or expensive vacations that we can get away from school from. Plus, we don't have the time nor the money to be able to afford such a luxury. Unless you're like me, and are going away for sport related reasons during spring break, there are plenty of options that are low-budget and create lots of memories with your friends.

1. Work/Find a small job to do

Although this isn't the most fun option to have, working allows you to have more spending money while at college, which we all know we go through fast and for stupid reasons. Working can also save you from boredom while you're away from school.

2. If weather permits, go to a State Park and hike.

Hiking is a great form of exercise and can come with great views as well. These types of trips permit lots of cool pictures both mentally and with a camera. Exploring what your state or neighboring states have to offer can be a way to conjoin friends. Obviously in some places it can still be too cold to go hike a mountain or nature trail, but there is never a wrong time to sit back and enjoy nature, even if the weather isn't prime. If the weather is especially nice, you could even make it an overnight trip and camp on one of the multitude of camping areas offered in the park.

3. Go shopping or thrifting

Everyone needs a little retail therapy now and then to make the days easier to go by. Along with that, shopping allows for a lot of small talk between friends if you want to spend an hour or two just catching up on each other's busy college lifestyle. Plus, finding a new outfit for when you come back to school will always make you feel good about returning to campus! New clothes, new half of the semester!

4. Explore a nearby city

City life may not be for all of us, but going to bustling towns filled with shops, food and lots of people can be the change in scenery you need. Grab some friends and road trip to somewhere away from the same old thing. Not only will it be an interesting day to your week, you're sure to find something to do no matter where you look in a large cityscape.

5. Catch up with family or long lost friends

There is never enough time in the day to know all about everyone and communicate with them all of the time. Most certainly they miss seeing your shining face if you have a good relationship with them. Use this week to rekindle and reconnect with those you love most. You could do something on this list or go see a movie, go out to dinner, or something else that's small with little time requirements in order to keep your relationships happy and healthy.

6. Just relax

Not only does this cost no money, it's just plain necessary. Relaxing is something that anyone can do, but we often forget about doing it. Relaxing rejuvenates our minds and bodies, and college life can definitely put a toll on us mentally as well as physically.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
