In life, we all have times that we must face stressful situations, and times that the Lord challenges us with trials. It might seem as if they will last forever, but we know that they will pass. In the moments when life gets too hard, here are six bible verses to keep in mind.
1. James 1:2-4
"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."
2. John 14:27
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
3. Proverbs 16:3
"Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans."
One of the biggest trials that I struggle with is not worrying about what is to come. It is much easier to pray and trust that the Lord will make the way for us.
4. Psalm 94:19
"When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy."
5. Matthew 11:28-30
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."
6. Philippians 4:6-7
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
The Lord never gives us more than we are able to handle, and we know that it is a test of faith, and we will become better Christians for it. We should never fear, because the Lord's peace is with us. It is nice to know that the comfort of God is always with us. Whenever we have anxiety, the best thing to do is bring it to him. When we are weary we can come to the Lord, and know that he is our comfort.
In times of struggle, the best thing to do, is to come to the Lord in prayer, and keep in mind that the hardships will pass, and that we will become ever stronger in our faith as a result.
