5 Unusual Vacation Spots Worth Traveling To This Summer

So summer's here! Nice bright sun to tan your skin, pools to lounge and swim in and it's time to break out the summer wardrobe! Where are you going to flaunt your stuff, though? Your backyard? No way, girlfriend! You should find a good place to show yourself off and I have a few that you may enjoy!

1. San Juan Island, Wa.

San Juan Island, Washington, is a small island near Seattle, Washington. On the island is a small town called Friday Harbor. The island definitely has a small town kind of feel and has a beachy/fishing city feel to it.

2. Mount Airy, N.C.

If you're an old soul, like yours truly, you may recognize this town from "The Andy Griffith Show." This was the town used in the show, but dubbed as the town of Mayberry. There is even an Andy Griffith museum there!

3. Pfeiffer Beach, Calif.

Located in Big Sur, California, Pfeiffer Beach is a beach full of purple sand. Fabulous and the best place to work on your tan!

4. Oneonta Gorge, Ore.

If you like the adventure of exploring outside, Oneonta Gorge in Oregon is the best place to visit. With the beautiful array of colors, you can easily get lost in time here.

5. Finally, the ever popular, Lake Tahoe, Nev./Calif.

Located in between two states, this clear and fresh watered lake is a beautiful sight to take in. Even with its placement in the mountains, this lake still looks pretty warm for me!
