How To Fall In Love With Fall

5 Trends For This Fall

First things first! This will be told from the perspective of a Florida girl. Meaning I have a very deep love for the beach, the sun, and denim shorts. But as Summer fades and Fall approaches the fashionista in me can't hold back her excitement. Fall is when you can finally wear those cute jeans you love without melting or throw on your favorite jacket without regretting it two minutes later. At last, layering is a thing again! Some girls may cringe at the idea of having to turn away from their sundresses and crop tops and let me tell you I completely understand, but in addition to the bomber jacket, the oversized sweater, the leather jacket, etc. there are some lovely new trends for this Fall season that I think we can all be excited for.

1. Crop Jeans. Yes, I said Crop Jeans.

I urge you not to diss the crop jean too quickly. While the idea of jeans that are basically "high waters" being in may seem a little weird I will tell you once you find the right pair you'll understand the hype. These jeans can obviously be worn year-round but you will truly see the beauty in them when you pair it with a really cute (preferably heeled) ankle boot. Forget having to always cuff your jeans or god forbid tuck them into your shoes, the crop jean is perfect for a nice boot and jean combo.

2. Denim Skirts.

Whoever told you that denim skirts were just a summer thing, lied to you. Trust me when I say you are going to want a cute denim skirt to turn to when you've exhausted your jean options. I love denim skirts and skirts in general because you can do so much with them! Throw on some tights with it for the classic contrast or slide on some high socks. You can layer up your outfit with a huge jacket or a loose cardigan. You can dress it up, dress it down, keep it simple, or make it pop. Denim skirts are the best to work around.

3. Deep V or Plunge Neckline Tops.

The plunge neckline is no longer reserved for your LBD. It's a super cute twist on your usual oversized sweater or long sleeve shirt. Although, for those worried about getting a cold (Hi grandma) I have a solution: Layering! I would suggest doing this with an actual plunge neck top or dress not one with a cut out. If you wear a solid color or even printed turtle neck underneath it will not only keep you warm but be a lovely combo.

4. T-shirt and Spaghetti Strapped Dress.

Shout out to Meredith Palmer (The Office) for being the real one who brought back this cute 90's trend. This is probably one of the more popular combos that people have begun to catch onto and I understand why. I love this idea because you have an opportunity for so much experimenting. You don't have to go right for the white T-Shirt and black dress. I would suggest trying various T-shirts on, even ones you think may not work (that's where the magic happens). This look also works with a pair of overalls or an overall dress.

5. T-shirt Dress.

For the girl who loves dresses (a.k.a me) you actually don't have to say goodbye, just trade in that sundress for a comfy and warm sweatshirt dress. These dresses are amazing because you throw this on with a cute pair of boots, some accessories, and a coat if you need and you're set. It's one of the simpler and more easy going looks for this fall. Just make sure its loose in the right places and is made of a knit material that will keep you nice and toasty.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
