We've all had those summer blues... Where you've just finished your semester and coming home for the summer leaves you stuck in the empty void of boredom. So what do you do when your hometown simply isn't as fun as college? You make it fun, and here's how:

1. Take a road trip with a friend

Okay so yes, this is an obvious answer, but it's still a good one. You've probably seen movies, read books and heard stories about summer road trips and how fun they are. The great thing about road trips is you can make them as expensive or inexpensive as you want. Don't have a ton of money? Go on a day trip to a town you haven't been before. Want to spend a little more dough? Book an Airbnb at that city you've always wanted to explore!

2. Reconnect with high school friends

You may keep in constant contact with your friends from high school or you may have grown apart, but there's something so great about meeting up to reminisce old memories over a cup of coffee. Chances are, you'll spend hours catching up on each other's lives and laughing about the "good ol' days."

3. Get a summer job

Okay, I know this isn't the most popular opinion, but bare with me. We are lucky to have such long summer breaks, but after a few weeks of lounging by the pool and drinking margaritas, it gets kind of old. Getting a summer job will keep you busy, not to mention it will put you at a much better financial standing for next semester if you save up the money you earn... Or you can spend the money on a great trip with your friends at the end of the summer!

4. Explore your city

Maybe you've grown up in the town you live in now, or maybe your family just relocated there, but chances are there are some things you haven't done. Try being a tourist in your own town for a little while. Visit attractions you haven't been to before, return to those places you went to as a child and haven't come back to in a while, find the latest shops and restaurants that opened while you were at college.

5. Make your own summer bucket list

Make a list of all the things you want to do this summer and make it your goal to finish the list by the start of next semester. Maybe you want to finish that book you bought months ago, maybe you want to lose some weight, maybe you want to make a change in your life... Whatever it is, put it on the list. By the end of summer, you'll feel way more accomplished than if you did nothing all summer!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
