Having a little brother I was always told how much he looked up to me, but the truth is my little brother is the one I look up to. Watching my little brother grow up was weird to say the least. He went from being my kid brother that watched wrestling in his underwear to my little big brother who liked girls and had a mustache, but I never stopped being thankful for him. Growing up I was always fighting with him and I know if he reads this he will probably be pretty surprised at all the important things he has taught me and all the things I never thanked him for.
1. Thank you for being my partner in crime.
You may not think I enjoy your company, but the truth is you're are probably the most fun person to be around. From running around playing tag in grandma’s house when we were younger to driving around with you while you had the aux cord I cherish those moments. You are always the one that I can count on to be right by side either getting into some kind of trouble or just hanging out.
2. Thank you for showing me things will be okay.
Since as long as I can remember I have stressed about little things that were not important and your carefree personality was always something I have admired about you. You’re the one that always reminds me that I am being crazy or overreacting about things that aren’t at all important.
3. Thank you for making me laugh when all I wanted to do was cry.
Whether I wanted to cry over a boy or just because I was being emotional that day you always had something to say that would make me forget why I wanted to cry in the first place.
4. Thank you for listening to me.
Even when I know you thought I was overreacting or when you really didn’t care about my boy or friend drama you still listened. You also never knew exactly what to say, but the fact that you were willing to listen meant the world to me.
5. Thank you for being you.
You’re an awesome person. You’re hilarious and you taught me to laugh at myself when I mess up. I can’t tell you the amount of times I wished I had your carefree personality and your positive outlook on life. You’re an amazing person that I learn from every day.
A little brother is like no other he sees you at your worst and takes all the name calling and torturing, but he still loves you. There are so many more things that I could thank my brother for. I yell at him on a daily and we fight over random things, but I would do anything for him. He knows me and doesn't judge what I do and gives me his trust when I give him advice. He is the pain in my neck that I can't help but love. Thank you, little brother, for being my best friend and my role model.
