Spending time with friends is fun but the classic Netflix and chill gets old. Maybe you don't wanna go out either. Well you don't have to. Here are some ideas on how to have a sucessful girls night in.

Step 1: Get friends and find a house to stay in

Make your group small but not tiny. Two people is fine but when you have 4 there are more opinions on whatever problem your wrestling and there are more voices to fill conversation when you don't feel like talking. I recommend an even number so there are pairs of best friends when you just wanna tell a secret. The house is usually easy to find but it should be mostly empty or have a room where you and your friends can be alone to gossip. But all this stuff is basics so lets move on.

Step 2: Commence spa night

If you don't own a face mask, google how to make one. It'll probably just be smearing food all over your face but why not? Something people don't think about for spa nights is whitening your teeth but it's still a way to pamper yourself and make you feel good. It's hard to talk while doing that though so it's the best when somebody pisses you off. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all, right? So whiten your teeth and watch some Netflix for half an hour. Lip scrubs are pretty fun too. They're basically sugar, so it's just some more food to smear on your face. Foot scrubs depend more on preference. Some people don't like feet but if you want softer feet, you can do a foot scrub. After all the scrubs, apply lotion. Then lotion on your legs is never a bad idea and it's like giving yourself a mini massage. Your hair needs moisture too so look into doing a hair mask but be aware it's gonna take dedication to complete a successful hair mask.

Step 3: Games of any kind, just be goofy

Games are so underrated. Play a board game and be nostalgic. Play charades or heads up and be goofy. Play Just Dance and get a work out. Literally any game will make great conversation and the best memories. Games are more fun than Netflix anyway.

Step 4: Eat. Everything.

Food is essential to life so it mind as well be good food. Bake brownies or cookies. Google a recipe and put your own twist on it. Decorate cupcakes and make every single one different. Have a competition to see who can make the best popcorn. Alright fine, so I guess you don't have to make sweet things. Make dinner together. It'll make you feel like a successful adult (unless you set off the fire alarm). If you're actually a horrible cook then don't worry, there are fast food places open 24 hours. Take a drive with the windows down and the music up to go get food.

Step 5: Are you not tired yet?

If you're still awake and ready to go then you shouldn't be. Go to bed. Watch Netflix or YouTube, turn off the lights, and have your late night serious talk until you burst into laughter and collapse from exhaustion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
