Ah, spring break. That time when freshly-independent college kids escape to beaches and engage in traditionally questionable behavior (don't worry, they're safe for work). However, some students either can't afford or don't want to engage in such vacation escapades. And that's perfectly fine. Here are some awesome things to do while you're "trapped" back home.
1. Catch up on TV.
As I've said before, being away from the family DVR leaves you with a huge TV backlog. Me and Dad are still working through "Agents of Shield" season 3.
2. Family Game Night.
I don't know about you all, but my family is a big fan of board games. Not the relationship-ruining ones like Monopoly or Sorry, but the deep, strategic ones. You know, like Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, this one German horse-racing game... We just picked up this one game that's basically "The Walking Dead" on a board. It's great.
3. Discover Yourself.
This being Lent, I am going to take some time to connect with what truly makes me happy. I am fairly certain this is writing, with probably reading some physical books as well. That may be as much of a challenge as I still have homework over break combined with various appointments.
4. Play With Your Pets.
You may not have a magic fox dog, but if you have a furry friend, feel free to spend some time with them this spring break. If you don't, God bless you.
5. Go on a Trip (With Your Family).
I know it's not technically being stuck at home, but it's OK to make plans with your loved ones to head out somewhere special. My family got tickets for Hamilton(you know, the hip-hop Broadway show? The one that won a Grammy?), so we're going on a day trip to NYC. In the end, it doesn't matter what you do over spring break, as long as you enjoy yourself. Just don't do anything stupid (also safe for work).
