5 Reasons To Get Married Young

Seriously, they have us beat.

5 Reasons To Get Married Young
TARA GUERARD

To those who are married, we hate that you left the squad and that you're finally tied down, but happiness looks gorgeous on you.

Here we are stuffing our faces with junk food and binge-watching series after series on Netflix, while our married friends are getting the last laugh. Mainly because they are married and we are single as a Pringle.

Here is why...

1. More time married to your best friend.

Think of all the fun things on your bucket list. Now, think of getting to do all of them, but with your best friend. Think of coming home from work and seeing your husband make your favorite dinner. Or maybe you're sick and you really need someone there, and your wife calls up your mom to see exactly how to make the chicken noodle soup from your childhood. Think of the Netflix binge-watching you can do in sweats for hours because you're married. Think of how, in just five years, you could be celebrating your fifth wedding anniversary and your friends will be dating random guys off Tinder. Think of just living life together, married to your best friend.

2. Someone to celebrate your big accomplishments with.

You may have high hopes and dreams, but how lame would it be to finally reach your goals but have no one there to celebrate? Maybe your dream job takes you 2,171 miles away from friends and family; you should not have to celebrate alone. Celebrating your dreams with the person you love is huge, mainly because I believe you should never give up on your dreams for any reason.

3. Someone to encourage and motivate you to reach your dreams.

Everyone at some point has said that they can't do something because of some stupid doubt that entered in their head. Wouldn't you want someone to literally hold your hand through the hard times and push you harder so you become better? Wouldn't you want a life partner who thought failure was something that needed to be redefined? Never settle for anything less than you imagine, because I promise you deserve so much more than you think. You owe it to yourself to have someone there who will not settle for you to be a stay at home mom if your dream is to be the president, or a CEO.

4. Time to travel and enjoy yourselves before kids.

You get to grow together. You understand that, as a couple, you're in it for the long haul. So there is one thing you have more than any of us: time. Nothing needs to feel rushed. You found your person at the time you needed to, everything else will be just like that. Go to the places you've always wanted to and experience the world and life together as a married couple, because you truly have all the time in the world.

5. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

Clearly, with more time together there will be a lot more of everything. More patience, fights, growth, time together and apart, everything. Going through financial troubles together or when a big promotion from work shakes up the world a little bit. Whether it's disagreeing on moving or which way to put the toilet paper, the more you go through the more that you grow and learn.

Clearly this is not meant for everyone, but those who are lucky enough to find their other half before most of us are pretty lucky. I hate when people attack others for the decisions they make in their life. I'm not married, but I will gladly stand with those who choose to get married young – because that was their choice, and if you don't like it then too bad. Just be careful, because you might wind up at your high school reunion 20 years from now and see everyone successfully married and you are the only one single.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
