I met you when I was young, and right away I fell head over heels for you. Everyone told us we were crazy, that we were too young to be in love, but we proved them wrong. We spent most of high school together, and I wouldn't trade that for the world, and these are the reasons I'm thankful for you.

1. You Taught Me To Love And Trust

Being so young when I met you, I didn't really know much about love and trust. You loved me before I loved me, and I will forever be grateful for that. You were the one who taught me that not all men are the same, that there are great men out there. You taught me that it's OK to be in love because being in love doesn't mean that I'll get hurt, it's actually this incredible, magical thing. I've trusted you for the last few years, and you've proved to me that you are worthy of that trust.

2. You Always Stood By Me

High school is the time that you figure yourself out; you try all these different things and hope something sticks. Having a long-term relationship is hard to manage in high school, but we did it. Between the classes, extra-curricular activities, and just life in general, things got crazy sometimes, but thank you for always standing by me. When the rumors and drama came around, you were always there for me, whether it was a pep-talk, listening to me vent or just holding me when I needed to cry, you were always there. You never gave up on me, even when I wanted to give up on myself; you were always my rock.

3. I Never Had To Go To A Dance Alone

This isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but during those few years, it really meant a lot to me. School dances are a big deal while you're in high school and the fact that I never had to worry about who I was going with made my life a little easier. Yes, I would have been fine if I went alone, but it's nice to have gone with someone I really care about. These are memories that we will be able to look back on fondly for the rest of our life, and I'm so happy that all those memories were with you.

4. You Believed In Me

This is probably the most important one, in my opinion. You've always pushed me to be my best because you saw that I could do more. I know sometimes it frustrates you when I don't see myself the same way you see me, but I love that you are always there to remind me of my potential. You see me as this incredible person that can do anything they set their mind to, and I wish that I could see myself through your eyes. There are so many things I did in high school that I truly believe I wouldn't have been able to accomplish without your love and motivation. You believed in me every minute of every day and I truly thank you for that.

5. I Always Had Someone To Hang Out With

It was always comforting to know that no matter what time of the day it was, I could hang out with my best friend. This is such a small, unimportant thing when you think about it, but the fact that I knew that you were always there for me is really an incredible feeling. You always made time for me, even when you were incredibly busy. It was so simple because I always knew you wanted to hang out with me, and vice versa.

High school is tough, but everything is so much easier and more fun when you go through it with someone you love. Thank you for being my best friend during these last few years of my life, you've made these stressful, crazy years worth dealing with.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
