Not gonna lie, I was never a big country music fan for the longest time. In fact, when someone would ask me what my favorite type of music was, I would always respond "any type but country". But ever since last summer when I forced myself to listen to it, it's been growing on me more and more. Now, I not only listen to it almost everyday, but I also think that certain songs have helped me become a better person. Here are 5 country songs that have inspired me to be the best person I can be and have overall given me a more positive outlook on life.

1. My Wish- Rascal Flatts

My dad would always tell me "listen to the song My Wish, that's what I want for you in life". I used to roll my eyes, but after listening to the thoughtful lyrics I can see now that this song truly describes what you want for the people you love and cherish in your life, and there is nothing more inspirational then that.

2. Every Storm (Runs out of Rain)- Gary Allan

This is a great song to listen to when you are sad about a break up or going through another difficult time. It reminds you that all negativity and sad emotions are temporary, and there is always light after every "storm" that comes in your life.

3. Invisible- Hunter Hayes

This song is very moving for anyone who has ever been a victim of bullying, or has even just felt like an outcast in any situation. The song tells you that you are not alone, and that there is always someone out there who cares about you even when you don't see it.

4. Fast- Luke Bryan

This song is a reminder to live your life in the present moment and to not dwell on the past or the future, because life goes too fast. Luke says, "If I could hit pause I would somehow, but it don't work like that". That line stuck with me because everyone has lived a moment in their life where they feel so happy and they don't want it to end, but no matter how hard you try the moment won't last forever. But that should not discourage you. Instead, you should live each day as it comes and enjoy every moment because there will be other amazing times even if they seem to go by way too fast.

5. American Country Love Song- Jake Owen

Although this song may just sound like a song about typical teenagers in a southern town with no deep meaning, this song actually means a lot to me because it reinforces that teenagers all around the country are all experiencing similar memories and emotions so we should just enjoy being young and free, let ourselves meet knew people, and fall in love while we are still young.
