As soon as September hits, you can feel the anticipation for fall in the air. Everyone’s ready to get out their jeans and stay away from the hot, humid weather. We can’t wait for the football games, bonfires, Halloween, Homecoming, and so much more. But I think fall is about more than just those big events. It’s about all of the small moments that make up those events. It’s about the instances that seem insignificant at the time, but end up making those moments turn into memories that will last forever.
- Bonfires. We all look forward to the nights where we can comfortably sit around a fire with all of our friends. But I don’t think it’s the bonfire itself that we look forward to. It’s being around all of our friends, laughing while burning marshmallows; listening to the simple crack of the fire and noticing the glow it leaves on all of our faces. All of the sudden the sun has gone down and there is no light except for what’s coming from the fire. We leave with the smell of bonfire in our hair and memories of friendship.
5. Thanksgiving. Although Halloween is a great and all, my favorite fall holiday is Thanksgiving. What’s better than stuffing yourself with food while spending time with all of thepeople you love most? It feels like a magical time-and that’s not just because of all of the amazing food. It’s a holiday that brings your family and friends together. We share thanks for these people in our lives, our homes, our food, etc. What’s better than relaxing with the people we love and sharing thanks for our wonderful, but ordinary lives?
