  1. Nothing was worse than hearing "We're kicking after practice," especially when you had over 300 to do.
  2. When you're done with kicking all you wanted to do was lay on the floor for two solid hours.
  3. Icy Hot was your best friend and your worst enemy all in one.
  4. Being so sore you avoided the stairs at all costs.
  5. Summer practices meant exhaustion, delirium and a few funny memories along the way.
  6. "56...5678...567 GET READY!"
  7. Count breaks will mess the whole team up.
  8. Hating the person who forgot to start the ripple.
  9. Hating your whole team when you can't finish the ripple in the designated four counts.
  10. "FIX YOUR DIAGONALS!"
  11. Jump splits on the football field sucked.
  12. Jump slits on the band field parking lot sucked 10 times more.
  13. Packing your bag for game day was more stressful than packing for a vacation.
  14. Forgetting a mandatory item in your bag and getting demerits will be the cause of future wrinkles.
  15. You almost went blind a time or too by accidentally getting eye lash glue in your eye.
  16. Your field uniform was treated like it was royalty.
  17. Putting on a new pair of field boots for the first time was always a struggle.
  18. Tying your hat on your head so tight in the hope it wouldn't fall off during your halftime performance.
  19. "We may have lost the game, but at least we won halftime."
  20. IHOP after games and competitions was the best. Who doesn't love pancakes at midnight?
  21. Performing fight song after a touchdown and a winning game was so exciting.
  22. If you didn't do hilarious things in the stands from being delirious, you wasted your drill team career.
  23. Drill team and band had a special relationship. You always had each other's backs.
  24. Doing the school song after you lost the game was always a depressing moment.
  25. Not having to worry about picking out an outfit on Fridays was so convenient. Team matching for the win.
  26. Learning competition season dances was always exciting.
  27. Trying out for those dances was always traumatizing.
  28. Saturday practices were full of delirium from spending eight hours inside your high school gym cleaning dances, at least you were with your friends though.
  29. Setting up curtains was harder than doing the actual dances.
  30. Cleaning dances was worse than cleaning your whole house.
  31. Your drill team might as well have been your high school's sorority.
  32. Mess with one girl on the team, and you have messed with us all.
  33. Winning medium team pom at nationals when you're the only dance entered in that category does NOT make you a national champion.
  34. Winning overall grand champion does. ;)
  35. "They so copied us."
  36. Bus rides are probably home to some of your funniest memories.
  37. Getting praised at practice from your director made you feel on top of the world.
  38. You accepted the fact that during competition season your legs would basically be black and blue from so many bruises ... thank you axel splits for destroying my knees for life.
  39. Tryout week your first year was full of nerves and anxiety.
