We all know the Disney classics, but are you aware of the extra facts behind many of them?

Here are 35 things you may not have known about your favorite Disney films:

1. During production of "Snow White", Walt Disney kept many animals on set as a reference for the animators.

2. The name "Pinocchio" translates to "little wooden head."

3. "Dumbo", though Walt Disney's favorite movie, is the shortest feature length film, at only 64 minutes.

4. "Bambi II" is actually a prequel to the original film.

5. "Cinderella" was filmed as a live-action movie before animators began producing the animated film.

6. The author of "Alice in Wonderland" almost called his book "Alice's Hour in Elfland."

7. In the original script of "Peter Pan", the family dog, Nana traveled to Neverland and narrated the movie.

8. Walt Disney originally cut the spaghetti scene from "Lady and the Tramp", but one animator campaigned for it to be included in the film.

9. Aurora from "Sleeping Beauty" has the fewest spoken lines of any Disney princess with 18 and only second fewest for a lead character, next to Dumbo.

10. "101 Dalmatians" is one of only four Disney films where both parents are alive throughout the entire film. The others are "Peter Pan", "Lady and the Tramp" and "Mulan."

11. “Jungle Book” was the last film Walt Disney worked on before he died.

12. After Walt Disney died, a designer for "Sword in the Stone" decided that Disney would serve as the inspiration for Merlin.

13. "Aristocats" was originally intended to be a live-action series, but Walt Disney decided it would be easier to animate it, though he never got to see the animation occur.

14. In the original script of "Robin Hood", Friar Tuck was a pig, but animators thought the Church would be too offended by the decision.

15. "The Rescuers" was the first Disney movie to inspire a sequel and the last to be nominated for an Oscar until over a decade later.

16. Adult Cooper in "Fox and the Hound" was voiced by Kurt Russel, the same actor who would later play the Commander in “Sky High.”

17. Ursula in "The Little Mermaid" was originally drawn as a spinefish and the role was offered to "Golden Girls" star Bea Arthur.

18. Gaston is the first male villain in a princess movie, "Beauty and the Beast."

19. Some lyrics in "Aladdin," specifically in "Arabian Nights," were changed after reports of anti-Arab racism.

20. A lot of characters were cut out of the "Lion King", including Nala's little brother Mheetu, Nala's fox friend Bhati, a lizard Iggy, Timon's meerkat relative Tesma and the hyenas were originally hunting dogs.

21. "Pocahontas" was the first Disney film to be based on a true story, and the second to not be based on an existing fictional story, after the "Lion King."

22. The song "Hellfire" in "Hunchback of Notre Dame", considered to be one of the darkest Disney tunes, was almost cut from the film.

23. Hercules is Ariel's first cousin once removed.

24. The name Mulan translates to "wood orchid" or "magnolia," and magnolias are featured many times throughout the movie.

25. There is a convincing theory out there that says Tarzan is actually the brother of "Frozen" characters, Elsa and Anna after their parents became lost at sea.

26. Yzma in "Emperor’s New Groove" was supposed to sing one of the verses in "Perfect World", in which she would detail her plans to rule the kingdom.

27. Near the end of "Lilo and Stitch", the red ship Stitch drove was originally an airplane, but it was changed after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.

28. Most of the characters in "Brother Bear" are named after real places in Alaska.

29. To better animate Rhino, the hamster in "Bolt", producers adopted a hamster and kept a large inflatable hamster ball in the studio.

30. Many famous stars reached out to Disney for the role of Tiana in "Princess and the Frog." Beyoncé felt that she did not need to audition, and Alicia Keys and Tyra Banks were turned down for Broadway star, Anika Noni Rose.

31. Pascal, Rapunzel's pet chameleon in "Tangled", was originally purple and blue instead of green.

32. The 99-story tower in the video game, Hero's Duty in "Wreck-It Ralph" was modeled after the Manhattan skyline on its side.

33. Producers of "Frozen" held a 'Sisters Summit' so that they were able to understand the relationship between two sisters before animating the film.

34. Sixty-four different animal species are featured in "Zootopia."

35. In the original script for "Moana", which means "ocean", Maui was the main character and Moana was a supporting character.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was).
