New Year's resolutions can be easy to think of, but hard to achieve. Of course you want to shoot for the stars, but it's important to be realistic too. The best type of resolution is a simple and practical idea that will genuinely change your life for the better. Here are a few ideas that almost any college student can add to their own list of resolutions.

1. Don't spend all of your meal plan money before the end of the semester.

2. Do not to eat out at a restaurant (or order takeout) more than twice a month.

3. At max, only skip one class of each course this semester.

4. Call your mom or dad when you miss them.

5. Got to the gym at least once a week.

6. Try to only go out (to a party or a bar) once a week.

7. Start every essay at lest one week in advance.

8. Use Sundays to actually get work done, instead of to just lounge around.

9. Have some "me time."

10. Look into internships for the summer (specifically one that is applicable to your field of interest).

11. Actually wear your retainer at night.

12. Read one book this semester that's not required for any of your classes.

13. Make a budget plan and actually stick to it.

14. Don't buy things unless they are a necessity. (Soon enough, we will be graduating and we'll need all the extra money we can get to pay off loans.)

15. Use your phone less and have more face-to-face interactions.

16. Wave and smile at people you know around campus, instead of avoiding eye contact.

17. Smile at strangers that you make eye contact with.

18. Make at least one real life phone call every week (and hold at least a 10-minute conversation).

19. Delete one form of social media from your life.

20. Stop comparing yourself to others.

21. No, seriously, stop; it's important.

22. Set aside an hour each week to do something you genuinely enjoy that is relaxing for you.

23. Learn something new (like a language, an instrument, some sort of special talent).

24. If you have a job, put half of your paycheck in your savings account and the other half in checking. Then don't touch the savings until the end of the semester.

25. If you don't have a job, get one and see the instructions above.

26. Go on at least one fairly inexpensive adventure every month, alone or with friends.

27. Do something risky that you wouldn't normally do. (Nothing to dangerous, maybe just ask for that person's number, or even ask them to hang out).

28. Don't overdo it. Moderation is key with pretty much everything (except veggies). So learn your limits.

29. Try to maintain a healthy diet. Not for weight loss, but for health reasons.

30. Take vitamins.

31. Make sure your living space is organized. The less cluttered your room is, the less cluttered your life feels.

32. Give at least one compliment a day to someone who isn't a super close friend.

33. Plan a trip to somewhere you've never been, and then actually go.

34. Live. It sounds cheesy, but you're only young for a little while.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
