As college kids we often feel like we don't have our lives together. It's hard to imagine becoming successful adults in a few years. What we often fail to realize, though, is we are all in the same boat. Even though it doesn't feel like it, our lives are much more together than we think. Here are some ways to tell:

1. You get out of bed in the morning.

2. You make plans with friends.

3. You take time to eat meals.

4. You attend at least some of your classes.

5. You study.

6. You respect your professors.

7. You do your laundry.

8. You generally maintain your hygiene.

9. You have some kind of routine.

10. You talk to your family.

11. You smile everyday.

12. You go out of your way to do nice things for your friends.

13. You set short-term goals for yourself.

14. You understand and listen to your body’s needs.

15. You balance your obligations and Netflix.

16. You treat yourself.

17. You spend some time outside.

18. You pay attention to the important people in your life.

19. You are punctual.

20. You are kind and courteous to strangers.

21. You respond to emails.

22. You stay up to date on current events.

23. You vote.

24. You take risks.

25. You step out of your comfort zone on occasion.

26. You love recklessly.

27. You have recovered from a broken heart.

28. You confide in people.

29. You ask for help when you need it.

30. You try your hardest.

No need to worry about having your life together! It will all fall into place.

I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
