So far, 2015 has been a great year for music and new album releases. Drake dropped "If You're Reading This It's Too Late" and introduced the world to "woes," Mumford and Sons decided to ditch the banjos for "Wilder Minds," and Kendrick Lamar set the bar impossibly high with "To Pimp a Butterfly." Luckily for us eager music aficionados, there are still dozens of standout albums just waiting to be released before the year is over. In no particular order, here are the top three artists who will (hopefully) release another album before the year is out.
1. Adele - It's been almost four years since Adele blew up the world of music with her sophomore album "21," which featured hits like "Set Fire to the Rain," "Someone Like You" and "Rolling in the Deep." While specific details remain scarce, industry insiders reportedly believe that an album will be released around September. If Ed Sheeran's reaction to hearing some of the album is any indication of the quality ("Dude... that album!"), Adele's third album is sure to stun.
2. Kanye West - Originally slated for a late May release, Kanye's newest album "SWISH" no longer has a set time table for when it will actually come out. As producer-mixer Mike Dean stated in a recent interview with Montreality, "Whenever Kanye says it's done, it's done." Unfortunately, that means we'll have to continue to listen to bootleg versions of "Wolves" until we get the real thing for the controversial rapper. Hopefully "SWISH" ends up dropping by the end of the year.
3. Frank Ocean - The wildly inventive musician recently made fans ecstatic by teasing an end of July release date for his next album, "Boys Don't Cry." Then he undoubtedly made some boys, men and women cry as July came and went with no new album. With almost no details to go on (even the title could be changed), fans are eager for his album to finally drop. Luckily, recent activity on his website suggested a possible release soon, so let's hope the album comes out before the end of August.
Hopefully these immensely talented artists can finish polishing their respective albums and help cement 2015 as one of the best years for pop music.
