We place an unhealthy amount of pressure on ourselves to have a great summer. Not only do we expect to make unforgettable memories, we expect to make them whilst tan, fit and extraordinarily happy. Yet, most of the time our expectations fall short and it's because of the work we refuse to put into ourselves first. We can't make these amazing memories at the beach, rocking a trendy two-piece, when we're reluctant to put in the effort to get that bikini body.
In order to get the motivation we need to not only stop doubting ourselves but also to start decluttering all aspects of our lives, we can turn to the help of these three inspiring self-help books.
1. "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life."
This book by Mark Manson humorously encourages us as a society to stop placing so much emphasis on positivity. There's a lot more to life than pretending that everything is "fine and dandy," and Manson posits that learning to properly cope with failure and rejection (instead of letting them roll off of our backs) is the key to success.
2. "You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life."
The author, Jen Sincero, also uses humor to her advantage. She coaches her readers to start identifying their weaknesses and bad habits, and ENDING THEM NOW- this is the only way to lead a better life. In addition, Sincero stresses the significance of making smart but bold financial decisions in order to achieve prosperity.
3. "The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning: How to Free Yourself and Your Family From a Lifetime of Clutter."
Margareta Magnusson's book urgently asserts to readers that they need to remove unnecessary clutter from their lives before someone else does it for them. As a frequent stress-cleaner, I agree with Magnusson's ideas of maintaining order with deep cleaning. A minimalistic lifestyle promises less stress and allows one to get more comfortable with the idea letting go.
