25 Things Only Acceptable While In College

Being in college is a great and somewhat strange, transitional period in life. It's the time between being a kid stuck in high school, and being an adult with a job and responsibilities. Once we grow up, we pretty much know what is expected of us. We have jobs, bills to pay, mortgages, and sometimes families to take care of. When we are young and still living with our parents, we have rules and still know what is expected of us for the most part. Curfew, grades in school, and more. However, when you are out and on your own in college, pretty much anything goes. Well, there are a few exceptions. Here are some of the things that may fly in college (but that's probably the only place):

1. Fitting two to three people into your twin-sized bed. Surely a challenge, but doable.

2. Never knocking before you walk into someone's room. And if it's locked, you know they're not home.

3. Staying out until 4 AM, casually. For no other reason than because you can.

4. Drinking on weekdays. A couple years from now, you'll have work Monday-Friday.

5. Drinking for multiple days in a row. College, am I right?

6. Going out the night before a test. Because you don't want to miss out on anything.

7. Spending the night at a friend's house for three nights in a row. You won't be able to do this once you have a house and family.

8. Walking home in last night's clothes. After college, at least drive…

9. Sleeping until mid-afternoon. Homework can wait when you stay up too late.

10. Going to sleep at 3 AM every night. Homework and studying. Enough said.

11. Napping excessively. Because you go to bed at 3 AM.

12. Not washing your clothes for weeks at a time. Who has time for that?

13. Eating fast food for every meal. We're young, we're broke, and we're hungry.

14. Drinking the cheapest beer. You know the one.

15. “Grocery shopping" at the closest corner store. And by grocery shopping, I mean purchasing Ramen Noodles, Coca-Cola, and potato chips.

16. Not spending your book money on books. You know you'll only use the textbook once, if that.

17. Having your wardrobe consist of pocket-tees and “norts." (Nike-shorts).

18. Still being drunk at noon the next day. But hopefully this doesn't happen too often.

19. Going on spontaneous trips and staying in the cheapest motels. Spring break, or any free weekend really.

20. Ordering pizza in the middle of the night. For so many reasons.

21. Gaining 15 pounds in 6 months. For mostly one reason, listed above.

22. Spending your last dollar on a cheeseburger. You're broke but you need that cheeseburger.

23. Wearing rain boots with shorts. Fashion. Look it up.

24. Being absent because you'd rather sleep. The daily question: “Do I really need to go to class?"

25. Finishing a series on Netflix in two days. Watching as much as you can while you still have free time.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
