While Mother’s Day is an amazing day to appreciate the women that we wouldn’t be here without, it shouldn’t be the only day to give thanks to your mother. In fact, moms aren’t even regular human beings. They’re super heroes. They take on a plethora of roles from being personal chefs to cleaning ladies, taxi drivers, doctors and more. The list goes on and on. So, Mom, thank you today and every day for everything you do for me. Here are 25 reasons I have to thank my Mom every day.
1. Thank you for being a cool mom.
For knowing when to intervene and when to take a step back. For keeping up with my stories and chatting with my friends and for being cool, sometimes cooler than me.
2. For being fashionable.
Because there’s no one I trust more to pick out a birthday or Christmas gift for me than you. And because you always have the most stylish outfits and show me what it means to be put together.
3. For knowing me.
For knowing what kind of meal I need after a long day (penne vodka, but of course, you knew that), for knowing what I’m thinking without me having to say it and for knowing when I want a hug and when I need space.
4. For being classy.
Because of you, I’m lucky enough to understand what being classy means. Thank you for teaching me manners and socially correct actions to take in life.
5. For never complaining.
Even though you do so much and never stop moving, I’ve never heard a single complaint come out of your mouth. You listen to me complain all the time, but you never do.
6. For working hard.
For showing me how to be a committed, determined, and hard working woman and for always striving to be better.
7. For always keeping the house clean.
Because, number one, it always looks great. Number two, reminding me that it feels better to be living clutter free and to make sure everything always looks put together.
8. For being organized.
For teaching me that organization and neatness make life so much easier and convenient.
9. For giving me my good looks.
10. For always putting everyone else first.
Whether it’s me, your parents, your friends or a stranger, you always do things for others before even thinking about yourself. Thank you for reminding me that it doesn’t cost anything to be nice and being selfless is one of the best qualities.
11. For giving the best advice.
Thank you for giving me advice with everything from school and friends to outfits and literally anything.
12. For being the best cook.
Because nothing is better than coming home from school and having your penne vodka or chicken parm.
13. For dropping everything to help me.
Whether it was driving me to school before you went to work, or coming to school to take me to lunch because I miss you, I know I can count on you to always be there for me.
14. For always supporting me.
Whether it was going to every single soccer game from the age of eight to 18, or reading over a paper, you have always encouraged me to give my best in everything I do.
15. For telling me to just be me.
16. For always answering my texts and calls.
Whether it’s 10 p.m. or 8 a.m., you are always available to listen to me and answer all of questions or concerns.
17. For being super woman.
Because I have no idea how you balance so much and do it with enthusiasm and positivity and a smile always.
18. For being honest with me.
19. For aging beautifully.
Because hopefully one day I’ll be lucky enough to look as gorgeous and young as you do at your age.
20. For having fun.
Thank you for showing me how well someone can balance being serious with being fun and knowing how to laugh when things don’t go as planned.
21. For being a great friend.
Whether you call up old friends just to say hi or support them, you’ve shown me how doing the nice thing isn’t always the easiest, but how important it is to be a loyal friend.
22. For showing me that you would do anything for family.
Because at the end of the day they’re the most important people in your life.
23. For always being positive.
For doing everything with a smile and making it seem effortless when I know you put a lot of time, work and energy into it.
24. For being my role model.
From the way you carry yourself with such grace to the way you are kind to every person you meet and everything in between, I am the luckiest girl in the world to have such an amazing role model in you to look up to.
25. For being my best friend.
Because although I do have friends my own age, nothing is better than having my mom as my best friend. Thank you for knowing me better than anyone else and loving the same things I do, for always being there for me and being one of my best friends!
