Yes, we are in the terrible, awful last three weeks of the semester.

Group projects, presentations, finals, it feels like you are drowning in assignments. It’s really difficult to be positive about BU and school in general. To get through the next few weeks, I am going to focus on the little things that make me happy at BU. I’ll share them with you.

1. When there's a short line at the GSU.

When no one is at Panda Express at noon, and it honestly feels like someone is looking out for you up there.

2. Taking quiet walks on Bay State.

Trading the Comm Ave traffic for pretty brownstones.

3. When the BU Bus app tells the truth for once.

After long nights at Mugar, you don't have the patience for an inconsistent bus schedule.

4. The occasional dog-spotting on Comm Ave or Bay State.

Pupper. Doggo. Floofer. All are appreciated.

5. When you arrive at the dining hall when a new pizza comes out.

No lukewarm Vegetable Supreme for you.

6. When TA's have mercy on you.

7. Booths opening up in the GSU.

You're going to be there for hours. Might as well be "comf".

8. The last minute change from a cumulative final to a mid-semester final.

10. When the wind tunnel near Mugar isn't too crazy.

11. When there is no trouble using the wireless MyPrint.

The day your work prints the first time is a good day.

12. When the family knows you are suffering and sends you a care package in trying times.

13. 3 words. Krispy. Kreme. Fundraisers.

14. When the chill security guard is on duty Friday and Saturday night.

He won't judge you for two swipes... or three.

15. You have dining points to spare at the end of the semester and feel like a millionaire.

16. An empty laundry room. Praise

17. Empty cubicles at Mugar so you can study, stress eat, and wallow in peace.

18. When you get an outlet in the GSU just in time for your battery to hit 1%.

19. Free Cookies and Milk. One thing that makes living in freshmen dorms bearable.

20. Being steps from the Esplanade. Mom's right, fresh air does help.

21. When the Starbucks/Dunkin employees know your order without needing to tell them. Great for 8 ams.

22. When one of your back-to-back classes across campus gets canceled. No 1.5 mile walk in 15 minutes.

23. When you can say forget it, and just take a T into the city because Boston is our campus after all.

24. Rhetts breakfast sandwiches never let me down.

25. All the kind professors, dining hall staff, security guards and more that make BU the best it can be!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
