As colder weather approaches (hopefully), the time for snuggling on the couch and watching movies is quickly approaching. Whether you will be watching with your boyfriend or having a girls night in, here is my pick for the top 21 rom-com movies (in no particular order) to watch for those warm nights in.

1. "Sweet Home Alabama"

One of my favorite movies. A classic story of a country girl moved to the city, but has a few things still calling her home. I definitely recommend this whether watching with a boy or your girls.

2."Overboard"

Another great movie. If you have never seen it, you are missing out. It is full of laughs with a little bit of romance here and there. Great for watching with anyone!

3. "A Cinderella Story"

I think this most late 90's girls' favorite movie from middle school. Popular boy falls in love with the unpopular girl. A classic fairytale that boys probably would be fine without watching.

4. "The Proposal"

More laughs than romance which makes it perfect for watching with your boy.

5. "Breakfast at Tiffany's"

The original that inspired so many parties, costumes and photo ops. This is another great movie that is perfect for a girls night.

6. "The Lizzie McGuire Movie"

Middle school me never got over this movie and that Gordo finally got out of the friendzone. I think your girls will appreciate this movie a lot more than a guy.

7. "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"

Another one that has a lot more laughs and is perfect for watching with girls or the guy. Falling in love with someone your family disapproves of is always a start to some kind of comedy.

8. "The Princess Diaries" & "The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement"

GIRLS NIGHT! Student to Princess, Princess to Queen. Ultimate movie night.

9. "Footloose"

Old or new, this movie is a great watch with anyone. Cars, tractors, dancing....what more could you want?

10. "Hairspray"

YOU CAN'T STOP THE BEAT! Most guys don't like musicals, but it would be so much fun to sing along with your girls for the night and Link just adds to the movie.

11. "Miss Congeniality"

This is definitely a movie for watching with a guy or all your friends. First, Sandra Bullock, second, cop turned into pageant star.

12. "Sixteen Candles"

I am sure your mother or aunt has mentioned this one. A great 80's film of all the hilarious romance that happens in high school (or at least in movies).

13. "27 Dresses"

A closet full of 27 bridesmaid dresses and a girl in love with her boss, also a sneaky reporter watching her every move. Full of laughs for all of your girls.

14. "Mamma Mia"

Another musical for the girls, maybe the guy if he likes a wedding with three different dads.

15. "Think Like A Man Too"

A hilarious movie great for the guy or the girls. Kevin Hart as the narrator only adds to the comedy. Granted I have only seen the last 15 minutes of the first movie, but the second one is my absolute favorite.

16. "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days"

Full of laughs as a girl tries to lose Matthew McConaughey in 10 days (as if).

17. "She's the Man"

Back in Amanda's prime and when Channing was new to the movie scene, one of the best rom-coms and it is actually based off of a Shakespeare play.

18. "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen"

We all have a little Lola in us, so perfect movie for all your girls.

19. "When Harry Met Sally"

Classic. I don't think I need to explain.

20. "13 going on 30"

What we all dreamed about as 13 year olds; I think even a guy could appreciate this one.

21. "All About Steve"

(This one is for you, Carol)

HILARIOUS! You must watch this one.

Happy movie watching!!!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
