Because being in your 20s is just that unpredictable...
1. You’re a young adult.
You’re right in that decade of being too young to care, but too old to not have your priorities in order. You’re perfectly too old to do nothing and too young to do everything. It’s time for you to know how to do your own laundry, cook your own food, maybe even pay your own bills. It’s like you’re in a great big ocean and everyone’s got a lifeboat, but you’re the only swimmer.
2. You're going to change your mind - A LOT.
Whether it’s the shirt you can’t decide to wear out or the choice between a cheeseburger and a salad; you just can’t decide. There’s nothing really wrong with it either unless it’s a major decision. Leave those decisions for advice from friends and family if you can’t decide.
3. You’re going to make friends and you’re going to lose friends.
It’s safe to say that in your 20s you start to know exactly who you are and learn from the things you aren’t. Your friendships are kind of like that too. Eventually, you’ll learn that it's time to let go of the friendships that never helped you grow as a person. Treasure the time they gave you, but be wise enough to move on with your life and only welcome friendships that bring out the best in you.
4. Social media will make or break you.
Let’s be real and think of all the countless times we’ve all posted something without even giving it a second thought and we know it's something we’d never want our parents to see. Jobs really do stalk you and care about how you’re going to represent them. Chances are if you have to block someone from seeing it, you shouldn’t have it posted. Don’t let a picture of you underage drinking come between you and your dreams.
5. You'll find love for yourself and/or for someone else.
Eventually, you’ll catch on that we were all put on this planet to love whether that means you love yourself or someone else. In the whole trying to find yourself and figure life out, you just might fall in love. It’ll be scary and bewildering, but it’ll make you stronger. After all, sometimes the best things in life are the unexpected surprises!
