This Year's Darty Season Beats The Rest

What was the best about this darty season? The awesome changes that happened this year really beat every other year you have been in school here.

This year's darty season was on a whole new level. Do not get me wrong, darty season has always been one of the best seasons, but this year it was legendary. Darty season may be gone, but it will never be forgotten.

1. Real clothes instead of T-shirts

Breaking News: Alabama girls own clothes other than Nike shorts and T-shirts. There is a love-hate relationship with whoever started the trend towards presenting ourselves a little nicer on the weekends. Now everyone is dressed in adorable, trendy outfits instead of sorority T-shirts and tank tops. Graphic Tee's, fringe, cropped tops and high-waisted shorts are now all included in the starter pack.

2. Snow cones

There has been a darty revolution. Snow cones are now available for free at many of the fraternity houses. Who doesn't love snow cones? (100 percent worth the 30 minute wait in line). They are perfect when you get too hot lounging in the sun all day.

3. BYOP (Bring your own props)

A blow-up pizza, pineapple or doughnut floats, rubber duck floaties, and more have all been featured this darty season. If this isn't doing it for the gram, I don't know what is. Either way, it is a cute addition to your already cute Instagram pictures.

4. Jerseys

In the past, Jerseys were mainly worn by the guys, but this season they were on anyone and almost everyone. Jerseys range from Alabama football, NFL, NBA to Nathan Scott's One Tree Hill jersey.

5. Dogs. Dogs everywhere.

As per usual, dogs are a hot commodity. Whether it is a tiny puppy or gorgeous grown lab, everyone flocks to them. It is nice that girls and guys brought their pups along for the party. This also makes the best Instagram picture.

6. Perfect (rainless) weather

Perfect, sunny weather is not something that happens often in Alabama at this time of the year. Rain couldn't stop a party at this school, but it is nice that we did not have to deal with it, or carry raincoats around to the houses. Just a world of smiles, sunshine and good times.

7. However, there was beer shower ...

Alabama fraternities took over Old Row with all of these fraternity pictures. All of the brotherhood pictures led to the same outcome. Beer spraying everywhere. Most all of the big parties had a photo with the guys in their sometimes ridiculous outfits.

8. Ice luge

Nothing better than students and their parents bonding over a few trips to the ice luge. Also, parents were seen at many of the darties this season, I guess that partying with your parents really is acceptable now.

9. Country music to Rave music

There was a change of pace in the party music this season. Darty music went from chill, country music to full on DJs blasting anything that can make the crowd move.

10. A National Championship

The celebration never ends. How could this year's darty season not be at an all-time high after such a great start to 2016? Roll Tide!
